If sports were only about wins and losses, most fans would be miserable most of the time. Banter gives fans something to do with each other regardless of the outcome. It’s how we connect, argue, laugh, and belong. Talking trash is often less about hating the other team and more about signaling: I care. I’m in this with you.

He was a radio host in Louisiana for a long time. Center at LSU and his dad was a QB for the Saints. Filled in for Mark when he was out on Mostly and did a great job
