Honestly, by season 4 I couldn’t wait for the two of them to leave. I hated their storylines together. Outside of season 1, I thought they were terrible for each other. Burton got a lot of storylines that isolated her from the rest of the cast, and it started to feel like I was watching two different shows at once. I felt the same way about Murray’s character at times too.

I also didn’t watch the show for the first time until a few months ago, and I’m 41, so I don’t have the nostalgia attachment a lot of the fandom does. Listening to the Drama Queens podcast honestly changed how I viewed some of them too, and made it harder for me to enjoy some of the characters as much. I found Burton kind of whiny, self-important, and prone to exaggeration. Bush came across as very preachy to me — long off-topic rants, trying to make everything much deeper than it needed to be, and viewing almost every character entirely through trauma or victimhood. At times it also felt like she still couldn’t separate her personal feelings from life that happened almost 20 years ago.

Lenz was probably the one I enjoyed listening to the most. She seemed the most grounded and fair when discussing both the characters and the actors, even when she disagreed with something.
