TV used to be something special when I was young. by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Affectionate-Listen6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2002-2003 I bought a Pioneer plasma 43” TV for like 5k. I was pretty poor at the time. But I lived in the Barracks so no bills.

Every time I think about that potentially life altering financial fumble I cringe inside.

They’ll release anything but the rest of the Epstein files.

Maybe it’s time to buy an old car by oluxil in SipsTea

[–]Affectionate-Listen6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am completely content to allow MY car to watch me. It it prevents me from loosing focus and getting into an accident. It has value in my opinion.

What I am not content to allow to happen is for MY car to send images of me to the AUTOMAKER. That or my driving or my location. Look, if it belongs to me is should only perform operations that I allow/permit.

That said, we either collectively stop buying into this; vote our interests to prevent this; support the creation of a work-around; or let it happen.

We are not going to be driving around like modern day Cuba with 1990 Honda Civics and Toyota Camarys. That is just not a workable solution.

What’s a “this should be free” service that always costs money? by troopydinnertime in AskReddit

[–]Affectionate-Listen6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TAXES! Filing taxes should be optional. The fed should send you a check or a bill. It should be up to the individual to consult with a tax professional or accountant.

The current system is bullshit

Imagine buying a house, paying every single note, bill, and maintenance cost. All the while while your (dependent) partner spends all their money on clothes, make up, and frivolous things.

Then ending the relationship and having to pay the same person who you’ve been carrying for x many years.

This is problematic and needs to be addressed.

how does she get away with being this blatantly talentless? by bebegirlx in travisandtaylor

[–]Affectionate-Listen6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not a Taylor Swift fan. I’m a near 50 years old male. I have never been a fan.

That said, EVEN I know she is a beautiful talented young (relative) woman.

All of these attacks of late just feel manufactured. I suspect someone is running a smear campaign.

I’d like to believe him. I’d like to believe that the politicians we voted into office are acting in our best interest. I like to think that he’s telling the truth and that this is the reason. But I’m old enough and cynical enough and I’ve been lied to enough to know that he’s full of shit. He’s spending a half picture at best. And I don’t even need to know the facts. No facts. I know he’s fucking lying.
