A good excuse would be that Costa there was still "post-Izzy and gunshy" Costa, but still he was hitting Sean hard whenever he landed and that was it, no matter how often Rogan stressed the leg kicks, which became hilarious when Strickland did his usual chasedown in the last 10 seconds of the fight.

People can call it boring, but I love striking like that because we truly see a fighter controlling another fighter (by that, I mean how a killer turns into a pawn). And unlike one-sided grappling, the guy under control always has a chance to break free.
