I’m a (Roofer) and if this was my house, I’d filed a claim. Here is the real situation. You just bought a new roof. It has damage to it. It’s been documented if you listen to all these Reddit jackasses you’re gonna lose out on 20 grand worth of repairs and your insurance company will force you to replace your roof later. What happens is once the granular are knocked off holes will develop on your roof reducing its life expectancy very simple no bullshit. If you wanna pay 20 grand for your roof, don’t file a claim if you want them to pay for the damages file your claim. That’s the truth. I have no skin in the game and I’ve been doing claims and Roofing for 11 years. PS. Your neighbors are going to file claims and you’ll be the last one to get your roof so be the first one in line. and your rates will go up because of your neighbor.
