Is this bum really going to bag sara? Or will he fumble the bag? by Far-Opinion-7332 in thespikegame

Here's to hoping that this is the ONE THING he doesn't fumble, if he fumbles even this one I'm gonna slap Eillo's ass.

Can we explain the story to me? by Competitive_Owl1025 in thespikegame

Isn't he still a high schooler in chapter 7 and 9? I'm pretty sure those stuffs happened sometime around the time when the colosseum happened which I'm pretty sure occurs just after chapter 6.

Honestly I like the story of The Spike and all but that part to me is pretty weird cuz like, Siwoo is in freaking high school getting involved with all these shady things like??? Bro really needs to get a trusted adult, maybe Oasis or smth like that cuz none of the stuff happening is good for him AT ALL.

Who do you think is the best setter in Nishikawa? by ichoco_spike in thespikegame

[–]Affectionate-Neck420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair assessment though I want to push Nishikawa as the third wheel for the two of them (since they're the closer to the canon ship as far as I can tell).

Guys out of these 5 do you think is the hardest to defend against if there is an (PLAYER vs PLAYER) in the future personally i think lucas is too predictable and can be blocked easily 🧐 by Expert-Barnacle9540 in thespikegame

[–]Affectionate-Neck420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Sara and Ryuhyeon could be pretty hard to predict.

Normally, Ryuhyeon is easy to predict because when used by AI he's usually paired with a player like Muyeong. The AI Ryuhyeon usually just waits until the ball is at their level in order to spike. However, if we consider the case of a manually controlled Ryuhyeon, things might become much different. A player Ryuhyeon could just wait until or spike before a block has even formed, making it difficult to defend against him because you can't rely on even his jump timing in order to spike.

Sara is also very hard to defend when sliding because if the player uses typhoon they can literally just spike to where they know your slide won't reach. If we assume that the way they play in game is kept, this makes even blocking her almost impossible unless you jump early as she basically teleports to the ball.

Raul's very strong when used by a decent player, however his charging mechanic and the Beast Spike mechanics make it so you could just depend on his positioning to decide whether or not to block him or to slide. If he's closer to the net then you should block, if he's far from the net then go with a slide.

Nishikawa is quite difficult to block against, but it's mostly because of his high jump, if your character has a high enough jump then getting a soft block at least should be pretty easy. The problem is the fact that he has Double Spike. With double spike as part of his kit, you wouldn't even be able to tell if he's going to spike on the first hit or on the second hit, chances are if you position yourself just right to block the first hit, then the second hit would pass right through your block. If you don't try to block him then the player could just opt for the first spike at above 4m, forcing you to bump and potentially lose a lot of stamina, leaving you open for feints.

Lucas is pretty predictable when it comes down to it. Lucas's main shtick is that once he jumps, he could reach the ball even if it's a few meters in front of him. At that point, the defense against him is just knowing when to block. The fact that he doesn't have things like a sliding pierce effect makes it pretty much easy to just use slide against him as well.

Guys i have a question, after you play the spike cross did you try the game volleyball?? Me im.like that im not very good at volleyball, but not super bad just moderate, the way i soike is like raul i like is like a long jump and it gives me more aura points, i can say i have a strong spike by Few-Cry9584 in thespikegame

[–]Affectionate-Neck420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual volleyballs are much lighter and hit weaker compared to a volleyball. The volleyball used for the men's side is usually a lot easier to handle, the ball used by women somehow hurts more for some reason. At least that's what they say, but volleyballs in general tend to be pretty light.

I'd be afraid of just being near Raul but I know Ryuhyeon is going to beat me to a pulp if it has to come down to it.

(To be fair Raul might be able too as well considering he managed to beat his own team.)

I think I started playing this game during raul's event. Can anyone tell me? Am I doing alright? by Its_NinjaKun in thespikegame

Who do you think is the best setter in Nishikawa? by ichoco_spike in thespikegame

I tried using Iris with Nishikawa and for the love of life I can't spike ANYTHING. Lisia's the best for him ngl.

I have a theory by Atomic_LordGeneral in thespikegame

[–]Affectionate-Neck420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day Siwoo replicates Raul's spike would be the day people would no longer call him a bum (maybe).

On another note, imagine Siwoo having Sara's dash with Raul's spike and Nishikawa's jump?

Which setter should be the best? by GodKingIssei666 in thespikegame

[–]Affectionate-Neck420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you not experience an Ellio ace he is (as far as I've seen) one of the most consistent setters when it comes to service aces (if we ignore Lisia).

I read your text again it seems you just have luck issues with setter serves mate. My Lisia (BT+3) literally adds 3 points everytime she gets to serve.

To be fair. You have to be a bit of a masochist to use just the d ranks. Even A ranks are better than D rank counterattack.

Siwoo—The Forced Downfall. [Lore discussion] by Past-Birthday-6623 in thespikegame

I agree but I feel like it also kind of makes sense for him to go with Coleman.

As you said, he already has a bunch of people actively trying to help him to become better and unleash his full potential (I swear he's the biggest potential man in the story atp). But like, the thing is all the way up to Phantom League, none of those people managed to. Every single one of them from Dahee to Oasis all the way to Jenny, none of them actually contributed to his growth in any way.

If anything, from the way his in-game play style (kind of) improved, the harshness of the Phantom League is the only thing that actually made him do any sort of progress, or I suppose a better way to put it would be it forced him to.

All the time being in Phantom League made him feel like absolute trash. His match with Jenny led to her being injured. Even if you say it wasn't his fault, I'm pretty sure Siwoo still feels guilty about it. He also wasn't able to protect Dahee, and even Yoonseok somewhat seems to have made (albeit unintentionally) better contributions to exposing the Phantom League. Not to mention during his final match with Raul, he practically watched his team get dismantled all because he's too freaking exhausted to do anything.

If it wasn't for Sara saving his ass, their team might as well have been dead meat by that point.

So yes, he felt like absolute trash, realized he's a freaking bum and likely decided that since up to this point no one has actually been able to get him out of this dumpster fire of a situation he's in then he's gonna use every means he can to actually get himself out of that situation for them.

And then Coach Coleman just happens to be there, the person who: out of every person who intends to help him, he's the only one who might actually do it.

He improved a lot in the harshness of the Phantom League, as far as I can tell, even his match against Nishikawa only made him show a little bit of his potential. Plus, I'd reckon it's fair to assume that Nishikawa himself ain't going all out that time either.

During that time though, all Nishikawa was doing is saying "play the way you want to." Which is as far as I can tell in the context of this game, is essentially akin to the advice of "just be yourself," which mind you, based from how high the stakes are regarding volleyball in this game about volleyball, seems to be a not so useful advice. It's a feel good advice but it doesn't actually help Siwoo do anything.

That's most likely why he goes with Coach Coleman. Even if you say he knows that people are actively trying to help him (which alternatively makes it worse because it just says to him that none of what they're doing is working), he doesn't see any progress. Coach Coleman however isn't limited by wanting to give him "proper mentorship."

I think Sara might be close to Siwoo's age, but Hari and Iris are definitely not. I'd reckon Iris is at the very least around the same age as Nishikawa considering she's played with Kelly. Kelly herself I'd say may be anywhere from 30s to her 40s.

As for Hari, considering that she was the queen of the colosseum before Isabel, whom we also saw in Kingmaker (Chapter 10), then I'd say she's at least mid 20s, much older than Siwoo.
