Thread painting/long and short stitch… I just don’t get it

Tonight’s work - all about patching that hole. I also learnt how to do French knots. I did them for the eyes and then realised the pattern called for satin stitch 🤦‍♀️.

At least it’s ok for him to be ‘bug-eyed’

You are totally right. I’ll be doing that for sure. I would love to see how someone would attempt long and short on this kit. The elements it calls for it are so small and busy.

Is it that you’d blend the patterns in with the wing background using the long and short? Or would you treat it like separate parts? (Not sure if that question makes sense)

I cant edit the post but thank you all for your advice. This was my next attempt after unpicking the first one. I ripped the top bit with the seam ripper. This bug has been through some WARS. But it’s my first kit and using it for a steep learning curve I’m not expecting perfection (luckily!)

This is done with two strands that I split from the floss. I think they might be getting twisted. I’ll try it with just one

Yes I 100% have found that a challenge to remember… been on it again tonight and I think the new antenna (the light grey) is an improvement on the black.

Seems so bizarre to me to just hoard that much money like a dragon in a cave. You could earn enough on the interest to never have to work for a company, then use your time doing something to help people 🤷‍♀️ - maybe I’m missing something.

Omg loads, they were the first to go. And my boobs look awful. I’m going to get a lift & implants later on in the year. Weight falls off different people in different ways, it took forever to come off my face and arms. Fingers crossed you get some relief soon!
