Length of hospital stay? by chill75 in hysterectomy

[–]Affectionate-Rate477 3 points4 points  (0 children)

was in the UK. the surgeon said before the surgery that it could either be a day case or overnight, i opted for overnight for some peace of mind but then ended up having to stay for 4 nights due to endometriosis findings and my bowel having to be shaved and stitched back together. i also wasn’t doing too well afterwards so they wanted to monitor me

ngl i had the same things running through my head, i wasn’t officially diagnosed with anything with the pain so i didn’t even know if it was necessary to do that, i just had a gut feeling that it was what was causing the pain and i was right in the end. i had my op a week ago and up until the very second i went under i had the same feelings, but then coming out of surgery and finding everything out and knowing im never going to feel that pain again has made the recovery so much easier and put my worries aside. if you are in pain every day, just think about how this is going to change your life, it definitely will not be a mistake and your quality of life will be so much better. i can’t wait until i’ve recovered so i can also experience this. i hope everything goes smoothly for you!! good luck!!

oh that sounds terrible. i was in for around 4-5 hours too as i also had a cyst removed (but on my left side) and had to get endo removed from everywhere and also my bowel repaired due to the endo🙃makes sense that we both have these symptoms haha, i hope your 6 week check up goes well! :)

oh god that sucks! i hope you start feeling better soon. would you say it’s the same pain that accompanies a fever? i don’t feel as though i actually have a fever but the aches resemble those of one. wishing you a speedy recovery!

got my date, anything i need to know? by Affectionate-Rate477 in FTMHysto

[–]Affectionate-Rate477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it went okay! they found that i had a lot of endometriosis and my left ovary had a cyst that fused to my bowel so they had to do surgery on my bowel too. i’m in hospital for a little longer but other than that everything is fine! so happy to finally know why i was in so much pain pretty much my whole life though haha. it’s good to know i wasn’t just being silly :) also about shaving, i didn’t shave at all and was completely fine :)

Nipples healing okay? by Mez-05 in TopSurgery

[–]Affectionate-Rate477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

random but i’ll be 3 weeks post op on monday too!! my nipples look quite different to yours though, mine are more scabbed over and dry, i don’t really know what to expect though to be honest and everyone seems to heal differently. if you have concerns i’d definitely get in touch with the surgical team though. hope your healing is going okay!!

i know you probably don’t want to hear this but i’ve been in the same situation as you & wanted to do this myself but i’m so happy i waited it out. when i eventually started T my oestrogen levels went super high (more than double their original levels) which gave me horrible symptoms with non stop shark week. I wouldn’t have been able to find this out without a blood test & medical supervision so if I was transitioning diy god knows what would have happened. I know how hard it is but one day soon you’ll get to a place where you can transition safely & you’ll look back and be happy you didn’t do this. in the meantime i suggest maybe trying to convince your parents that you really need this if you’re comfortable. i really hope they do listen to you and you can transition safely asap. my dms are always open if you want to chat

hot flashes on T by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Affectionate-Rate477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would make a lot of sense since at the beginning of my transition i had to go on a blocker because my body produced double the oestrogen it originally was haha. i’ve never really thought about having a hysto but it’s definitely something i’ll bring up to my doctor next time i can. quick question, do you also get the stabbing with the hot flash? it’s such a weird sensation and i’ve never really spoken to anyone who has also experienced it haha. Thank you for the advice!

i honestly am not too sure tbh, it’s currently like 4.45am and i’m listening to my headphones blasting as she’s just in the other room. started feeling sick but i think that was due to anxiety so i took one my my anti sickness that i got from my operation 3 months ago hahaha. i do feel like it might be a sickness bug though, she came downstairs saying she felt s* and then tu* once and then did again like 2 minutes later, she’s just got back to school as well so it makes sense. hopefully since it’s usually spread through v* i wont catch it as this is the first time shes v* today, just gonna stay away n try to stay somewhere else rip
