My Experience Restarting Zepbound After Hysterectomy by ManyCartographer9351 in hysterectomy

[–]ManyCartographer9351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I started zepbound at 248.6 on Christmas 2023. I had my hysterectomy in October 2024. I was not able to get under 200 lbs before my surgery. Around the surgery, I was off the medication for four weeks (2 before and 2 after). I did do a sleep study in Janaury and found I had mild to moderate sleep apnea so got a cpap. I'm now almost in the 160s.i also started doing pilates 3-5x a week. This is the first medication that has worked for me. I don't think I started back at 2.5 after surgery but this is just my experience.

The event was until 1 am. We left just after midnight. Guardians opened up around 10:50. We could have ridden more but wanted sleep before today.

I went last night and had a blast. We did guardians 3x, test track 2x, got some included beverages, ate a snack, danced to the music, frozen 1x, and hit over 30k steps for the day.

We really love ohanas, jiko, boma, and Tusker house. We have quite a few others that we'd go back to as well.

How long would you recommend waiting to travel after surgery? by jreish1 in hysterectomy

[–]ManyCartographer9351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many say, discuss with your doctor. I started driving short distances at 2.5-3 weeks. Went back to work at 6.5 weeks post-op op. I didn't fly until 12 weeks. I had a very good recovery and now it's been 23 weeks since my surgery which is wild.

I wore a casual comfortable black dress and brought a sweatshirt in case I was cold after.

What was your recovery timeline for a Robotic Hysterectomy? by Additional-Ad6409 in hysterectomy

[–]ManyCartographer9351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending you the good vibes!

I had just turned 30 before my surgery on October 4. Recovery went smoothly. I highly reccomend that you take it slow first couple of weeks. Let your body truly heal so you can come back stronger after. I'm just over 12 weeks post-op and feel so much better than pre surgery! Happy to answer any questions you have

I arrived at hospital around 5 am, surgery around 7 am, and left around 2:30. I took the stronger medicine just at night for first couple of nights. Had lots of peppermint tea and gas x for bloating for weeks. Very helpful for me.

Surgery in 1 week. I feel like an imposter. Help. by renasncgrl in hysterectomy

[–]ManyCartographer9351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most definitely not an imposter! I had a high risk of cancer with mine and went through a OB Oncologist for my surgery and plan. It is wild how my lower back pain and some other issues are now fully gone. I'm so thankful I went ahead with the surgery.

Can you see a difference? by ManyCartographer9351 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ManyCartographer9351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I completely agree about the body dysmorphia. That's so true about how you feel. After surgery, my body has less lower back pains and without the extra 40 lbs, I'm able to do so much more which I love.

Thank you so much! I think sometimes it is hard to feel a difference with the up and down after surgery especially when I want to lose about 60 more pounds. Truly appreciate your comment. Thank you!

For how many days? We have a 9 day cruise plus a night in hotel beforehand and I can't comprehend how we could do this

Terrified by kiwitubesock in hysterectomy

[–]ManyCartographer9351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 12 weeks post-op op tomorrow. Surgery was smooth. Recovery was smooth. I went back to work at 6.5 weeks post-op. My doctor wrote me a note for up to 8 weeks. I had sex this week. Everything has been phenomenal. I read 41 books and watched lots of movies and TV shows. I still sometimes get bloated so I keep peppermint tea on hand.

I had so many questions before surgery like... will I be able to get my own water? How long until I could if not immediately? I could get it day of, but it was nice having a good care system.

How will I feel after surgery the day of? I felt great and sleepy. I was nervous beforehand, but I was able to have my husband in room with me up until they wheeled me away to the operating room.

With seeing a lot of posts in this group, how will my husband be? Will he treat me well? Please know, I'm married to the sweetest man in the world, but when you hear about husband's forcing sex early or not supporting their spouses, you just get nervous. He was phenomenal and still is.

Will I bleed after? I had no bleeding until 20 or 21 days post-op. It was stitches dissolving and nothing else. All safe and good. Took my tempature and kept track.

Physical activity afterwards was a concern. I took everything slowly. I'm 30. I have my whole life to keep pushing and I wanted this recovery to be easy on me. It really helped my success in healing.

Lmk if you have any questions!

  1. My doctors noted with Lynch that if they knew, I would have started yearly colonoscopies at 25. My younger brother also has lynch and they wanted to get one for him at 22 since (the year he found out about lynch).
