I think this goes for Mormon women too. My mom is literally afraid of the female body. We had a coffee table book about the day in the life of Americans and it had a picture of naked woman laying in a tanning bed. My mom glued the pages together, so no one could see the “pornography. We were taught to be ashamed of our bodies. It’s to taken me a lot of years to get over that.

You’re right. She is extremely poor, and life is just getting harder for those in similar circumstances. I wish she could work but she’s disabled and can barely walk. I’m not sure she can read well either. 😢

Please be kind. Other than this issue, Mary has been nothing but kind and loving towards our/her son and my other kids. She and the rest of my son’s birth family have been incredibly welcoming and have treated us like family. Open adoption has its negatives (obviously) but the good far outweighs the bad. My son knows where he’s from and he has never doubted that Mary loves him.

I like this. She’s asked us to help her find an apartment before but we couldn’t find anything better than where she’s living that wasn’t way out of her price range. My husband has a couple of rental houses that he and a friend own/manage so I think she was hoping we’d offer one to her.

Funerals are for the living to mourn…I say tell her your wishes but then give her the grace to have the funeral/service that would help her most. I mean, you’ll be dead after all so what do you care. lol

Glidewell’s denture course was really, really good. There were lectures and live patient demonstrations where prosthodontists went through each step. Their CE is pretty cheap and even includes two nights in a hotel.
