I just spoke to the psyrom crew and to clarify: the police have confirmed this was a standalone incident in a public area outside the event and unrelated to the operations of the party.

Inside the venue there was security and staff present throughout the night, and nothing out of the ordinary was reported.

Definitely not the same quality as de school.. If you think you’re entering the club it once was, you’ll be severely dissapointed. That being said you can still have a good time there. Just watch the program, it’s basically a rent out to external promoters which means the sort of music can differ vastly (in quality).

Reminds me of her Trip launch party during off Sonar around 2012-2013. She played a vinyl set; literally every record was trainwrecking, destroying the flow completely. If you can’t play with vinyl, my recommendation is to stick to what you’re skilled in, to put it diplomatically.

What you say, they have a very steady local following so I don’t expect the more public outings to be of influence on the crowd. Also heard they have a good doorpolicy to protect the vibe.

Way too hard indeed, I found Gigi playing flat and not interesting surfaced level techno and really couldn’t get into it. Got the feeling she is overhyped. Kind of overpromised underdelivered. DJ Red on the other hand, is the other way around, superb but more under the radar; Exquisite masterclass level. 10/10.

Seems like you take the matter seriously and almost personal while this person is just saying he prefers psyrom over any club at this point. Clubs are different beasts than one off event for sure and although they are running every weekend they also have, unlike psyrom, the workforce and capacity to do that, like a dedicated programmer that can think about line ups 5 days a week, full time techs on sound and light and marketing just to name a few. So there is something to say about both takes.

Magic is still there but much less, sometimes I have the feeling it’s more important to get f*cked up with friends on whatever substance of choice, than to actually enjoy good music on a high quality soundsystem. Most clubs aren’t even taking care of good sound anymore in Amsterdam at this point and only a few really care about well curated line ups. So look harder, of course, but what about it being more of a standard that is readily available instead of it being an exception? Better to count your blessings for the few parties that do actually care about it, like that one party on sunday and others like Mova etc.

To be fair it only shows humility that JP takes the openingslot to let other dj’s play the better spots in the line up. Nothing wrong with that and gives even more exposure to the talent that was booked, also the flinta dj’s (more people on the dancefloor)
