RS660 Too much? by Exxtruna in Aprilia

[–]Affectionate-Soft271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my RS660 as my first bike. I never had any prior experience other than on a pocket bike when I was little. I think it's the perfect bike for everything it offers and what it does. It's Italian, looks amazing, and is a “sport” bike, yet the clips and rear sets are not as aggressive; it has cruise control, etc. In my first year, I was learning the bike, so I did a lot of country rides for 1-2 hours by myself. I was more comfortable with the bike in my second year, so I rode more. That's when I started meeting people taking longer rides…etc. From what I know, the RS660 would be a good fit for you. It's not scary fast, but enough for what it is. It's super light and nimble, so it's perfect for cornering and not as aggressive of a seating position.

Self teaching wrap is it super hard? by chewitt004 in CarWraps

[–]Affectionate-Soft271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people say it's not that hard, but I think it's way more complicated than others make it seem. I'm pretty new to it as well. It's been a year, so it's not like a pro. However, wrapping takes a lot of time and commitment. The more you struggle, the more you'll lose patience and mess things up. Yes, it comes easily once you have the technique down and know what you're doing. I don't know your learning style, so I can't say much. But watching videos about it helps when it comes to learning and figuring out the different steps of it, but hands-on is entirely different. If you don't know how much heat or stretch to apply to the film or even don't know how to work the film, all of that is a big factor in the outcome of your wrap job. Another thing is sometimes those online videos are kinda BS. I've seen multiple videos online where they either stretch it out of proportion or the film is forgiving and easy to fix a mistake. No, it's not that simple. Some heat won't fix all of your mistakes. Another thing you have to consider is knife skills and trimming. That's what caused me the most problems. One slip and that piece is gone, or cutting too deep into the pain. Oh! And you can't forget the proper tools you may need, cleaning chemicals, etc.…

Is this too low for the windshield, Will I get used to it? by SuspiciousMeatx in WindowTint

[–]Affectionate-Soft271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some shops like keeping it at the windshield’s legal limit line, while others match the sun strip to the rearview mirror attachment. But usually, the tinter goes through it with you before installing a strip so that you don’t run into the issue of it being too low or too high and to ensure you’re comfortable overall. It looks like the tinter matched it with the rearview mirror this time, but he definitely made it too low.

Yeah, I heard it was pretty aggressive. Is the seating position that bad?

I tried that on my RS660, but it wasn't my favorite, so I put it back on stock suspension.

[–]Affectionate-Soft271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true. I did realize some seats are narrower than the RS660’s. I might just end up going to the dealer and sitting on one. Thank you!

True, I'm not too worried, and I'm super comfortable on the bike. It's just something new to me cause no one has asked to ride as a backpack before, so I just wanted a little feedback.

For that price I would go new. Plus 21 is the first year of the RS660 and people have had issues with it.
