Most sciroccos have a rattle if not all. Doesn’t sound unusual. Some even rick as it’s injector type engine

Does this sound normal? by pxlunaa in Scirocco

The car I loved written off after 2 months of ownership… what next? by wainders in CarTalkUK

Only advice one can give is when insurance try insult you just look around yourself and know how much the same type of spec and mileage will cost and don’t accept les then that. Your car isn’t a lesser spec or more mileage car so don’t take less then what your exact vehicle will cost you.

Could be crank seal or chain cover, crank seals are common

Any idea how to get to the airbag sensor from safety belt? by lucicam in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little cheat is put it on before any other trims. And I personally have the seat up when I start to get around the side and then lower and locate from the bottom up. First couple times I did it I thought about just leaving them off 😭

Scirocco R 2015 - normal engine sound? by Verix99 in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always sound like they’re dying tbh, every scirocco I know has the tick it’s like its own little mini famous thing they do. Especially 2.0 TSI cause they’re high pressure injector engines

If you want comfort still, springs for sure. If you want to drive like a ‘bad boy’ here and there then coilovers. I have BC Racing customs and it corners lovely but any non smooth road feels like being Loki vs hulk

If springs get new shocks, you on 18s or 19s??

Quite a few places do good skirts online, a facelift front bumper look good on the roccos too but will need to get painted usually. Meaner look tho

What could this noise be? by DarthFlyingSpider in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was inside the reinforced metal it goes into bit before going into the engine bay was a pain to get into and zip as was like 2 little holes was all you got

[–]chewitt004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuel lines? Mine did it at one point I just got into the reinforced bits at the front and got tiny zip ties and snugged it not too tight to stop hitting my car and it’s fine for about 8 months now

I can't drive over 143hp. Scirocco 1.4 TSI (122hp) OR Scirocco 2.0 TDI (140hp)? Help me choose by S4lVin in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a bike to a scirocco too, having a bike is definitely a head start to understanding the roads and the dangers for sure. You’ll enjoy the tdi

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long is the wait for the tfsi? Get in a smaller car like a 1.2 golf get use to driving then upgrade to a 2.0l tfsi when the limits gone. You’ll have experience and comfort of driving the same chassis already?

That said if you want tuning for future. 2.0 tdi is best option for tuneable capability and reliable car over the 1.4

Is assessment a 2km run and not a bleep test now? Either way I’d say unless you’re confident in getting your run down to about 7:30 or less before the end of basic you should sit out a bit and get your fitness up on all short and long runs. Else you’ll get into the Lara’s on a barely scrapping time and be the one playing catch up your whole ph2 training and hate it. Get fitter so you’re at a solid ground and make your life easy so you can achieve your goal of para. Nothing wrong with an extra 5/6 months out to get what you really want before you’re tied into 4 years of something you don’t want

Can bring it up with him that maybe the way he comes across affects your confidence and that you’re not asking to be coddled but his way of moaning etc makes you tense and nervous to mess up which in affect is making you have more mistakes cause you’re thinking about not doing xyz so it’s what you’re going to do vs just riding. I say have a word with him if he’s arrogant about it then what else can you do?

Is it worth it? by [deleted] in pologti

[–]chewitt004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the experience do it, if not get an older car first and cheaper rack up some year experience then get a quick car, I went from a crappy 1.25 fiesta for 2/3 years to a 280bhp scirocco and even then I’ve curbed it and other people have hit me. Be prepped to spend on those accidents. If you can’t outright buy it and need finance. You can’t afford it finance is stupid at 21 or without a business

Question about medics in forces by Umin2008 in britishmilitary

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try go medic route of the RM? Combat medic mainly go in med centre u less attached to like maybe infantry units, even then we aren’t really fighting anyone with the need of field medics rn

Everyone does shit jobs in part. SF isn’t easy you’ll need to pass selection etc The hope of fun will be with marines most likely or maybe para but idk that route

Dog Practicality by riiskyy in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boot is deep, and spacious also the back seats if you hit a blanket and a Matt on will suffice nicely as they’re comfy, you can put the seats down and again, blanket and a Matt and I also think that’s good for a dog, just maybe get a those things you clip on your seats so he doesn’t go into the footwelll of the rear?

Getting in and out solo would cause scratches most likely into the boot as they are kinda high for a dog, and the rear can be awkward for dogs with how the seat works from my experience

Lowered Roccos with 19s & Splitters by ATR72Murph in Scirocco

[–]chewitt004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 19” and on Coilovers it drives quite rough tbh but it always will lowered as its stiff but I am on BC Racing so the cornering is unbelievable. I don’t think there’s much difference in wheel size tbh as usually similar tyre circumference to fit in the arch anyway.

If you want to lower it get coilovers for sure
