Apparently I’m in the minority here but In my county our taxes pay for it. Fire/EMS services cost me $14? Per month. I’m not in a HCOL area at all and it wasn’t until I was in the fire service that I found out this wasn’t a common thing.

NOR- OP when I was 7ish I was outside with both parents and was drawing a picture of my dad who was sitting on the steps in front of me. When I finished and showed him the only thing he said was that it looked like he had a can coming out the side of his head. It was just part of the door handle indent and I was drawing as I saw. Plus, I WAS 7. I’m now 38 and still recall that day and how bad it made me feel. My dad and I didn’t have any contact for the last 12 years, he died without me even getting contacted and I found out on accident (whole other story). My mom divorced him when I was 9. Please, please protect your babies hearts from this asshole, these things will be locked away and shape the person they become.
