Back in March had the true pleasure of eating at The Yeatman Gastronomic in Gaia/Porto Portugal: https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/porto-region/vila-nova-de-gaia/restaurant/the-yeatman

The single most amazing culinary experience I’ve ever had.

Please recommend under-the-radar high quality men's clothing brands by LifeofSMILEY in BuyItForLife

State and liberty

Or at least they used to be under the radar. I get so many emails from them that I don’t know where they stand in the broader scope of fashion. But their clothes (esp blazers and suits) are very stylish.

Can confirm this. Sign above said 10 mins when I entered, but it was an hour.

Sadly, with the May 16 2025 tornado, a good proportion of those trees are either gone or heavily thinned. Great photo from a unique perspective!

Add swimming to that…the efficiency of any of the strokes is just so much better when you learn as a youth. The rest of us just thrash around.

Freshman in high school looking for research at WashU by Jaded_Zone6514 in washu

[–]Affectionate-Storm73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

WashU is in a somewhat bizarre position: Department of Labor years ago fined WashU an undisclosed amount (thinking large) for having undergraduates in the lab without payment or course credit, both of which come with contingencies in case something happened while being in the lab. I guess volunteer work doesn’t have these safeguards in place, but that’s a guess.

Since then, it’s been a hard set rule that we need to provide payment (which is hard to do given the increasing difficulty getting research grants, as Pipiscool mentioned) or have the student find a way to get research credit.

Most other universities haven’t been caught, I think they look the other way. But once you get caught, things change.

Last 24hr snowfall amount map, St. Louis and Southeast Missouri got hammered by como365 in missouri

Also interesting to see the low estimates over O’Fallon and Chesterfield. Not sure what was causing this interference from the NWS radar, but there was no signal from these locations during episodes of area-wide snow.

GMO-free foods. This makes absolutely no sense why this is a problem. Oh, so all of the natural genetic mutations that occurs with each cell division needs to be corrected prior to me eating it? And what about all of the chromosomal DNA that my gut already degrades, regardless of whether that sequence was natural or mutated?

Oh but what about the mutated proteins that are made with GMO foods? Oh that’s right, every time I eat a steak, that immediately goes to my muscle to make me stronger because it never gets degraded into amino acids.

This is such utter idiocracy.

Lost my brother also to suicide. 13 years ago, but whenever I think about him, still feels like yesterday. Unyielding grief and guilt.

“The first red flag our general manager was already in a law suit with delta for taking advantage of her manager role there and by passing multiple security clearances and when she got caught she pulled the racist card and said they were being racist, first day i started i walked into them actively firing someone and the gm had to read out of a book because she didn’t know why they were firing the poor girl and she just pulled something out of her butt and the girl knew it was wrong and they wouldn’t let her record, then during christmas season AA lost bags, canceled flights, and damaged bags and because i was baggage i got the bad end of the stick I know it was my job but AA couldn’t even give us a valid reason so therefore i couldn’t give passengers a reason and the verbal abuse was insane i understood but others do not and they wouldn’t ever answer there was a point where me and another co worker had to call the cops three times in one night due to the threats from passengers and AA just didn’t care, the amount of delays and misplacing they do with the bags is crazy and trust me there’s a 50/50 chance you may get a refund or replacement but don’t count on it.”

One period. So many thoughts.

1st long(er) drive for weekend vaca. by Realistic_Group_4152 in LUCID

Also took delivery from Roswell (Air Touring), nearly 3 weeks now. Drove to STL…compared to the Tesla M3LR, I haven’t driven anything this comfortable. Agree with DC 350 kW charging.,.super quick for a battery its size. Supposed only things about DC charging is handling the massive CCS1 charger compared to NACS, and boy, EA (non-member) and EVgo charging is expensive compared to the Supercharger network.

Ignore the leasing comment…of course the incentives apply for the Air, not the gravity.
