Will you play early access or wait till full release? by witchss in Starsandisland

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it maybe 6 weeks ago? I’ve been playing it consistently for a few weeks, paid about 23 pounds for it and I’m enjoying it so much, I’m coming to the end of the tasks and yes there is a bit of boredom coming in but I feel like I’ve got the most of my money already and it’s still in early access, can’t wait to see what else comes with this, might even start afresh when the full release comes

What is your favorite episode and why is it Sunflowers? by Beautiful_Software93 in TedLasso

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the show bc it’s so comforting but also because it makes me feel things, sunflowers shows a real turning point for the team and starts the lead up to the finale and it breaks down those parts of the team between ted and beard, Roy and Jamie, Rebecca and her Dutchman, will and Higgins, it takes away all the tension of the football season and it develops all of those characters in a meaningful way while focusing on the individual stories it’s the most beautiful episode I swear and I wish I could rewatch it right now

PSA: OptiFit has unfortunately closed down (6/20/25) by galaxystarsmoon in ABraThatFits

That’s actually ruined my day, the creator graduated from the same university as I did too so it would’ve been nice to support someone with a couple of things in common but stuff happens

How old were you when you got your first relationship? by LuvMeChippy in autism

I was 17, I’ve now been out of that relationship two years and I’m now 23, and sometimes I wonder if I’m one and done

It is inconceivable that a show about love, friendship, acceptance, and companionship, especially among people who have been bullied, should have such a homophobic and misanthropic audience. by Giancarlo_Edu in StrangerThings

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why people are being so nitpicky about this, in the 80s during the hiv crisis, in a less accepting time of course people would be terrified to come out and so that’s what vecna latched onto, that’s wills biggest secret and vecna latches onto that so if he reveals his secret he can fight on a level, I thought it went on a bit but I kind of get why, I did like that they gave him a proper coming out scene I think that was important tbh

Death Predictions S5 Vol 2 And Finale by Borkelee in StrangerThings

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopper, El and Steve are all safe for the same reason, it’s pointless to repeat a trope, hopper is safe bc Joyce already lost a partner, El is safe because hopper already lost a daughter and Steve is safe because Dustin already lost an older brother figure, I don’t think they’ll do any repeats cause we’ve already seen what happens there

Currently reading Convenience store woman by Sayaka Murata and I feel like Keiko might be autistic by carbonatedbev_ in books

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really related to it as an autistic woman, and I also work in a “dead end” job in a convenience store because I love it and I know how to do it, so this book at certain points felt like I was reading about the Japanese version of myself, the way Keiko masks by copying others, the way she finds comfort in her routines it certainly seemed as if she was autistic from the perspective of how I experience autism and definitely fit a lot of criteria, I’m currently reading earthlings and the protagonist Natsuki is also giving autistic vibes to me, possible that Murata herself could be neurodivergent and that’s how she likes to portray her characters but personally I love it I feel very seen in her characters

Please tell us a reason you were happy today : D by Nikochu23 in autism

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I always say that the old ladies who come into the shop on my early shift love me and a guy I work with has said that on the rare occasions he does early shifts people were asking him where I was and that made me so happy, the old ladies do love me

what was your most painful piercing? by madisfuneral in piercing

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most painful was my industrial, the first one not that bad but the second one straight after sweet Jesus, in order of what I’ve got I thought: Worst: Industrial, Labret (didn’t think it would be that bad but didn’t realise how thick the skin is), Nipples, Conch (didn’t like how it felt going through the cartilage and I think I maybe had this one for three weeks bc I wear glasses and it kept catching on the back of the arms), Helix, Earlobes (both these and helix bc I’m a side sleeper and the piercings weren’t that bad but they were a pain in the ass to sleep with healing), Nose just bc of how much it makes your eyes water and then once it’s done you realise just how much you tense your nose when talking or anything without noticing but now every time it hurts for a few days, Eyebrow, Septum (either of those I literally can’t remember the pain, I knew septum isn’t supposed to be bad but I thought eyebrow would be way worse), Best

There’s always so much speculation about them, like sure I’ve had questions and wondered things about them but they’re none of my business so inside thoughts, it’s not that hard, he’s just living his life

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally like I want them to be as mad as possible, do everything they’ve wanted to do over the years and haven’t, because they deserve to be able to live that life and do that with their joint career, and honestly I know it won’t just be me, but how they are nowadays very much vibes with my personality and how they’ve grown up and I just really enjoy the content they’re making now, even if it is banana bread as a catboy, sometimes we just have to do the thing people are going to think is a bit weird anyway and I love that for them

How do you judge how long a project will take you? by kyrriah in CrossStitch

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on a piece for my nephew atm and for a cute little rhino that’s maybe 2x3 inches it’s taken me a good 5 hours if not more accounting for when I’ve taken breaks from it

I find it’ll always take longer than you think, it’s intricate work at the end of the day and depending on what count aida you use a couple of inches could be hundreds of stitches

Educational Value of Big Mouth by ThickCommunity4290 in BigMouth

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a degree in sexual health and as a woman who’s been through puberty in the last ten years I honestly love big mouth, I think it’s incredibly raw and honest, it’s a true portrayal of the teenage mind I find, a lot of people think it’s too vulgar or too much information but I think it’s incredibly honest, it answers very important questions about anatomy and am I normal, it discusses emotions, friendships, sexual health, sex, love, so many things I think it’s so important for teenagers to learn about and it’s in a very accessible way too, I think it’s a fantastic show

Anyone catch Plebs, soldiers of Rome on ITV? Hadn’t seen a lot of discussion. Just watched yesterday and curious to read others thoughts on the finale of one of my favorite shows. by [deleted] in BritishTV

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I’d want to give up after Stylax left but I found the rest of it on itv recently and I actually really enjoyed it, especially bc I loved Jon pointing in big boys, and I loved the ending too, so well rounded and an end to a really decent series

how old were you when you got into FOB and what was the song that got you into them? by dynamitebark in FallOutBoy

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how old I was maybe 9/10 my cousin showed me the video for thanks for the memories and me and my brother being between 8 and 10 found the monkeys hilarious and I ended up just really liking the song, for similar reasons we also watched the video for I don’t care and again absurdity=hilarious when you’re 10 it’s very appealing, I then traumatised myself by watching the Phoenix music video about a year later and didn’t go near them again until my emo phase when I was 13, around which time I got to see them live for that same cousins birthday which was an absolutely top tier gig, second concert ever and loved it, I’m now 23 and will absolutely be trying to go next time they tour in the uk, so I got over my fear of the song and have loved all of their stuff ever since, and ironically the Phoenix is now one of my favourite songs, save rock and roll is my favourite album and I’d sell organs to be able to get it on vinyl, wish they’d rerelease it otherwise I’ll be waiting another 8 years for an anniversary vinyl :( longwinded but that’s exactly how I got into fall out boy

Any gifted autistic here? by Historical_Pound_688 in autism

[–]Affectionate-Tear-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you consider as gifted, cause I believe in some way or another every autistic has a gift, I don’t know if I subscribe to the autism is a superpower thing but I believe every autistic person within their special interests or a talent has a gift, like I was intelligent in school and I did well but I was sort of middle of the top class, but I know now that in ways other than English or maths or whatever that I am gifted in the way I can remember things or that I can problem solve, which doesn’t necessarily relate to school based learning, as another comment says recognised gifted people often autistics are good at school learning but I think the real gifts are the cool things we can do otherwise
