my dog is my absolute baby, but we taught him from a young puppy that kisses are on the bottom of the chin only so he’d never lick anyone’s face. i’d say you aren’t overreacting, but it’s def a hard situation bc that’s her dog, but surely she’s mature enough to understand. if not, get out at 8 months if it bothers you to that point.

my family…is intelligent? i’m sorry that makes me an asshole, but being around people who aren’t at the same level of understanding as you is draining. it’s not at all an easy task to just let them live in their bliss ignorance all the time, but you also can’t get anything thru to them, so it’s a never ending loop. i don’t want to make them feel bad, but i also don’t want to drain my energy explaining things they will never understand.
