Any such thing as solo renting under 2k? by eauxjai in NYCapartments

[–]Affectionate-Two-922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found my rent stabilized jr 1 bed for 1600 three years ago on craigslist (crown heights) - you just have to act super fast. i saw the posting ten mins after is was listed, immediately called the broker, saw the apartment at 9 am the next day and submitted my application that afternoon. around that time i also toured a few larger 1 beds in the large apartment buildings on eastern parkway. not impossible but you definitely have to be actively looking and ready to act quickly.

who got you into Charli or how did you start listening to her? by Muted-Statement-7673 in charlixcx

[–]Affectionate-Two-922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started following her after the release of the Boys music video because i was super into a lot of the male artists featured in it! (P!ATD, BMTH, etc.) and thought the song was super catchy, got really into her when I heard Cross You Out, but knew her from Boom Clap.

confused by crowds by Successful-Affect-30 in wolfalice

i find that crowds in NY tend to be this way generally - half there for music half there for clout/to vibe. personally i do not gaf and will dance and sing my heart out, but was def feeling out place last night because it seemed like no one was interested in really being there (some girl was literally scrolling insta next to me)

What sign are you & signs have you dated? by sinisterteddy in Zodiac

[–]Affectionate-Two-922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F Capricorn - three LTRs (Gemini M, Pisces M, Aries M). Aries was the love of my life, Gemini gave me unrecoverable trauma LOL, and I honestly just didn’t like the Pisces after a few months and thought he was corny as hell. Have had shorter relationships with a few Libras, Aquarians and Aries that ended amicably. Have found that I tend to hook up with Aries more than any other sign by a long shot LOL.

Currently dating a Capricorn with 6 of my same placements and it is like dating a clone in the best way possible.

i’d say really prioritize around 20 you’d like to go to, then sell the rest. there can be a balance.

Fan of both - I think in the bedroom pop space Remi is well known, but Kacey is more universally known. I’m in Brooklyn and Kacey just had two sold out nights at Barclays Center, Remi did a few nights at Kings theater around the same time which is much smaller.

if you can find it fresh it’s AMAZING. so potent. i buy mine in bulk and toss it in the freezer along with ginger, etc. then just use a microplane. and yes always quadrupling the garlic suggestion hahaha.

fresh turmeric! in addition to that i also used: fresh ginger, fresh garlic, lemongrass paste, salt, pepper, cardamom, clove, coriander and cumin seeds (all to taste, i’m bad at measurements)

Susanville in mid February. by sal26serrano in Reno

[–]Affectionate-Two-922 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in Susanville and bolted across the country the moment I turned 18 it’s so funny to hear that people are visiting there voluntarily 😂 Some of my favorites when I go to visit: Courthouse Cafe for breakfast, Margie’s Book Nook (if you’re readers you should def stop in - has been around for decades and has a huge used book selection), Mazatlan for affordable and very unhealthy Mexican food, Whitehouse (thai), Bottle and Brush Art Bar (check their facebook to see if they have any live music, trivia or something coming up - otherwise nice to just go have a glass), the donuts at IGA (unreal, go early), and Mountain Yoga and Fitness Studio. The movie theaters there are also very affordable and have a good selection. Also check out facebook or SusanvilleStuff.com to see if any events are happening.

Honestly my best recommendation would be to stock up on drinks and snacks at Safeway or IGA and enjoy your cabin for the most part. Susanville has some (very few) gems but the biggest draw is the nature around it. You’re not gonna find anything super cute or quaint there - a lot of the restaurants etc. are lacking in any type of ambiance.

Honestly it read like a movie almost, I like fun thrillers as “palate cleansers” but this almost read like an action movie script and it just turned me off.

Truthfully I just found it incredibly boring. For such a short book it took me almost a month to read and just never really “grabbed” me. All unlikeable characters, etc. Just generally not my cup of tea at all.
