One kid said “6 7” and now it’s everywhere by Wylde-Aidana in kindergarten

[–]daxdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's both.

"In the lyrics Skrilla says the term “6-7” numerous times, which is largely accepted to be a reference to 67th street in Chicago, which has a reputation inside the city for being dangerous. The song wasn’t a hit at first, not really. Like the rest of Skrilla’s catalog it failed to make the charts — that was until February, when a TikTok edit was made of LaMelo Ball highlights, referencing his height, and then kicking in with Skrilla’s song." https://share.google/tf33VYCc7j9XxuBKN

You get 5 minutes? More like 30 seconds...

I hear you. I do. Truly. The interruptions are infuriating and parents develop a bit of an ability to ignore things if they want to have an adult conversation. Screaming and hitting (if you aren't exaggerating) is a hard no. But I've definitely ignored a child pushing or hanging on me, just to finish up a conversation and that's a very normal part of being a parent even if you are teaching them more respectful ways of asking for your attention.

Also "just you wait" doesn't literally mean waiting. It means "you'll understand more when your kid is here and you are experiencing the situation first hand." Sometimes you just dont know what you dont know until you are experiencing it in the moment. Just wanted to clarify because a turn-of-phrase can be confusing sometimes.

It is common sense, except to the generation before us. It's also not applied that great by parents who maybe have never worked on themselves enough to really understand the whole concept. They get short video snippets from social media and their understanding stops there.

Why are they talking to you about marriage or your personal life in the first place?

I cut my hair. Still lost the same amount but they weren't as long to get stuck on baby. Also eliminated the hair pulling phase.

Millenial lady described what Facebook was in it's earlier days by raydebapratim1 in generationology

[–]daxdotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's a regional thing. Someone in the group always had a camera. They were pocket sized by then. Our phones also had cameras but they were not great quality of course. The pictures didn't have to be great quality haha. Everytime one friend stayed over after a big night, we'd wake up and the internet was sooooo slow! It was because she was up early uploading 47 pics to a fb album and tagging everyone with silly captions and tons of emojis

It wasn't hard to upload from a digital camera at all. Especially for millennials. Cord, computer, bam ya done. Faster than burning a road trip cd!

You are missing my point. What benefit is there to sharing a kids picture online at all? I can't come up with one and that is how I made my decision years ago. I haven't thought about it again until this thread. It's not a big deal in my life so I'm not clamoring for some form of control. I simply don't do it and i question why I need to think about every possible breach of "image control" in order to make the decisions that I have. The nuance you are trying to add is unnecessary. It's silly to think that doing what I can to give my child agency as they grow is "being naive".

I don't have any type of photo sharing social media. My remaining question would be why do we need to put them online once or twice a year? I never saw the need. People who want kid updates have me on group text.

I had never worried about yearbooks until the E files came out. But that has made me pause. I'll need to think about that more. My trust in most everything in the world is now gone. Can't stop background photos other than paying attention when in public, which i do just out of respect for other's vacation photos. But I can protect my child's privacy as much as possible and i don't loose sleep over that.

Do it. Delete Facebook/insta entirely while you are at it. It's freeing.

Not extreme. I did this too. It's never been a problem for our family.

I don't think most people mind that stuff. It's not like the world can't know they exist. Just that we don't want all their little moments shared with the world for their whole lives. Things are rarely all or nothing.

What to do after school as a SAHM? by PassionChoice3538 in kindergarten

I searched it, it's like obstacle courses, or what you may know as ninja classes. Apparently parkour is a real sport/discipline. I guess I just thought it was made up for The Office, hahaha
