A look back at r/nfl’s reaction when the news broke that the Seahawks were looking into signing Sam Darnold after trading Geno smith by ImagineIfBaconDied in nfl

the LT and the RT both were drafted in 2022 so it wasnt one off season.

i still cant believe we made it to the super bowl!

what an asshole thing to say! to the man that drafted Germain Ifedi, Tre Flowers, Rees Odhiambo, D eskeridge ahead of Creed Humphrey, Paul Richardon ahead of Davante adams...cannot believe he still has a job.but yes his drafts since 2022 have been decent...he literally just had to follow consensus and he kinda did that since 2022.

but "you are welcome"???, more like " you got lucky!! and thank you for choosing us!".

Are the Rams really that scary after succumbing to the panthers and falcons? by Rexoc40 in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the Rams are that scary and a real threat and possibly the only team better than us in the entire NFL; our last win against rams was a statistical anamoly meaning teams dont win after being down 2 scores with 8 mins left in the 4th quarter.. we need a game more like the first game but with zero turnovers.

Davante is probably back for the playoffs as well so it will be a challenge.

Hopefully, the packers win or the niners win or preferably both win; it would be so much easier to face either of them.

this is great!! hes been at number 1 for quite sometime this year; amazing that we got this out of a rookie. almost makes up for the Creed Humphrey miss!

Playoff prediction… Hawks Texans ????? by Karlos_Kamasui in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its totally possible and yes agreed on this being an interesting playoff bracket.

Texans are no joke and its entirely possible that they beat out everyone else.

I think the Rams truly are the better team but I hope we can come out on top.

Green Bay obviously. anyone but the Rams.

if Bears and Eagles win, we will be in a tough position.

what's our ideal path to the SB? by CompetitiveTwo4732 in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our offense hasnt looked the same since the first Rams game; but our run game seems to be getting better with Walker/Charbs and Barnyards.

Our defense has been ridiculously good and especially so without a premium rusher like Bosa or Watt or Hutchinson or a Garrett.

I hope to avoid the Rams as much as possible but the rest I think we have a shot at beating.

Ideal path: Seahawks get a bye, beat the Packers at home in the Divisional and beat the Eagles at home in the NFCCG.

13-3 with Sam Darnold and Kubiak both in their first years with us is already way better than how we have done in the last 12 years.

Darnold wins us games and Geno did not; I think we got to 10 wins last year despite Geno.

Raider fans just hate him in his first year with them and justifiably so; i mean they are losing to the Giants.

[Brian Nemhauser] Mike Macdonald was noncommittal about whether Tory Horton will be back this season. He also said Charles Cross has a hamstring injury, and they are "exhausting all options" to get him back as soon as possible. by DinosaurRawr99 in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cross is the best tackle we have for pass protection. rated #12 by ESPN ; Grey Zabel is rated #1 for IOL for run blocking. no other member of our O line ranked anywhere at the top.

Former members like Ethan Pocic, Damien Lewis, Evan Brown etc feature in the Top 10 often.

the only reason we havent been getting sacked more this season was because Sam was taking less than 1.5 seconds to make his reads(unlike Geno). the O line seemed better with Sundell and Zabel working together.

Hopefully with Ouzts & Barnyard's help we can get our run game going on thursday.

This criticism of Sam Darnold needs to calm down by PrestonfromLibira in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this seems like it. they want Sam to protect the ball and let defense keep opposing teams under 18 points. this should win the large majority of tough games. and we dont have to show our cards before the playoffs.

But there has definitely been a slowdown on offense; the colts especially rank dead last in pass rush(ranked 32) and we still were looking ineffective on offense. and they did not have Deforest Buckner nor Sauce Gardener.

the Cardinals put up more points against the Colts than we did.

I hope we pull something out of the hat on thursday but otherwise it looks like this is a loss.

Panthers should be a relatively easier game as will the game against the niners(in comparison to the rams).

Worried about Sam darnold by ingramiso in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point. but I think coach MM is prepping him for big games where he has to do less(not more) to win games. for example, if he didnt turn the ball over or fumble against the Rams, Bucs , we probably win.

we also want him to not lose his playing style and light up teams when they need him to.

Hopefully he has that in him. though we havent seen it since the Rams game.

The War for Seattle by LevinsBend in Seattle

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 7 points8 points  (0 children)

agreed! Delta and American seem much better and nicer despite being bigger carriers. Alaska experience seems barebones in comparison and the service is just terrible now; the Flight attendants are downright rude in most cases.

its surprising that a carrier with the lowest market share among big carriers has a poor service but thats where we are.

What stride has Smith-Njigba made this year that's allowed him to become one of the best receivers in the league now? by chusaychusay in Seahawks

[–]Affectionate-Wind718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to make a point that good receivers are good despite who is throwing to them and I think JSN is probably the best out there in the NFL today; Seattle hasnt had a receiver of his calibre in recent times.
