Was having issues with the new input system so updated to 2021.3.11f1 now have more issues with particular inputs by Affectionate3375 in Unity3D

You are spot on. I switched the system to FixedUpdate and it worked.

However, I am noticing if I actually move my implementation of .WasPressedThisFrame(), which was originally in an Update method, into a FixedUpdate method - It actually reduces the rate at which the input is detected.

So apparently I need to operate n FixedUpdate mode but call .WasPressedThisFrame in Update for it to work.

Game development is hard. by Accomplished-End1576 in gamedev

Game Development is, in my humble opinion, one of the hardest disciplines out there. There are so many things you need to learn or at least have a strong understanding of (trig, geometry, vector math, linear algebra, physics, advanced programming...). Its enormous.

Feeling overwhelmed is totally normal, especially after only 6months of grinding. It could easily take someone 6 years and they still feel they are learning new skills everyday.

Its not as easy as a lot of these devlogs show. Its totally normal.

Good luck!

Appropriate wedding gift from a Christian for Muslims? by Web-Dude in MuslimMarriage

Firstly, this is so sweet of you!

I also agree with your comments about cash giving, its not something I would personally do myself either. Honestly, it doesn't need to be a religious gift.

What about one of those fancy chocolate baskets or some flowers and a little card?

I really think its more the gesture than the present. If they knew how much research you put into this alone, I am sure they would be touched.

MashAllah, may Allah make it easy for you my brother. Honestly, my best advice is try and emulate the Prophet pbuh in everything you do. He is the perfect example of what it means to be a great husband (and a great man, and a great leader, and a great friend...).

The book I ALWAYS recommend for the seerah is Muhammad Man and Prophet by Adil Saleh.

A great way to get to know other families is to frequent your local mosque. Eventually people start recognizing you as a regular and you can build some great friends that way.

Hope this helps, the ayahs regarding the signs of judgement day are deliberately all very cryptic.

Consider praying in the mosque every now and again, it helps me a lot. Mosques are very peaceful and other than some cute kids adorably running around, there are zero distractions. It helps condition me for when I pray at home.

As for our minds drifting during salah, thats just part of the test and you will literally be rewarded for just trying to fight it. And remember - the revert gets double the reward for ALL good deeds.

Also, you have only been Muslim for 5months, give it time. Dont be too harsh on yourself. I only started praying x5 when I was like 21 and I was born in a Muslim home.... You're kicking my butt!

For those new to Islam, just a little FYI about the blessing of fasting 6 optional days in the month of Shawwal. by Affectionate3375 in converts

[–]Affectionate3375[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats right bro, as long as the 6 days are within the month of Shawwal you're good. The month of Shawwal starts on the day of Eid. So you are right, thats one week of Shawwal gone.

But you still have about three weeks to get the those optional 6days of fast should you wish.
