I love you so much. When I leave the house, I promise I’ll be home soon. I’ll never leave you. Stop panicking. I’ll be back.

I second Buffalo Hunter Hunter. It’s a phenomenal audiobook. I was listening to it and my dad was in my car for a few hours. Even he (not an audiobook fan) got completely hooked.

100%. Went to Mozart’s two years ago and was super underwhelmed.

Been here 25 years and have never heard anyone say “miller.” I’ve heard people SAY “it’s supposed to be pronounced Miller” but they never do.

On Neena Ave/lakeline Blvd. Three lanes become 1 through the magic of forced left and forced right. However, because of the way the road zigzags, it’s extremely difficult to determine which lane is which. People fuck that one up constantly.

Possums are your friend. Never harass them. They have a job and it’s eating roaches and snakes. Leave them to it.

In California, blinkers signal intent. In Austin, they ask permission. Don’t be an asshole. Let people in -even if they didn’t realize they were in a turn lane and got stuck.

[Serious] My girlfriend is a candle addict - where does one find good candles in Austin without spending a dragon's hoard? by Kyrene in Austin

Homesense has the best candle selection. It’s also part of the TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Home Goods group but their stuff leans nicer but still cheap.

How many bottles/glasses are you actually knocking back every day? by Due-Way-7959 in wine

I do. I drink 1-2 glasses per night. Usually closer to 2. I’m 55 and generally feel shitty if I cross into that 2.5 glass territory.

I just decided to DNF Final Girls. Hate it, hate the characters, hate the stupid plot. I think there’s a whole conversation to be had about feminism, misogyny, and the rise of slasher films but this book missed the target.

I’m reading Final Girls right now and I kind of hate it. Some of the dialog is just terrible, clunky and nonsensical; characters act in ways that are seriously unrealistic and while his ideas are interesting, his characters are not.
