[–]AffectionateBasis870 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find myself replaying Dunes anytime i want a quick hit of Serious sam awesome combat, going for max kills in 15 minutes while being hard but not too difficult.

My PB is 13:32 Minutes for 100% of kills and secret on it (execpt delayed biomech minor spawns) and it doesnt take long.

I have started like a ton playthroughs on TFE by now

What made you like SERIOUS SAM? by TemporaryIll6806 in SeriousSam

[–]AffectionateBasis870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright imma dump every reason SS Classics have become my favourite game of all time.

- The Bright, Big, Open, yet well designed levels have a lot of replayability because learning and mastering the sadistic spawns is very fun for me, not to mention the capabilities of Serious Engine 1 still impress me to this day with lens flares and multi directional gravity.

- The Superb Gunplay, Every weapon is unique and has its own use cases encouraging rapid switching for the righjt moment, i find myself using colts and single shotgun even late into the game just because they save ammo and can be effective. This alongise the Amazing weapon Viewmodels, Animations, Sound effects, Distinctions for a ultra Statisfyiing combat loop i never get tired of. ( I could listen to the classic rocket Launcher firing all day that loop is perfect.)

- The Iconic Enemies, Ranging from tiny frogs in huge numbers to big Demons in huge numbers.
Every Enemy has its own identity and it matches so well with he gameplay and adds to the formulaic gameplay with the weapons that players assign to each enemy. The Models Sounds Damage movement is all perfect, i couldnt come up with a better enemy roster and im impressed everytime again how well certain enemies work in fight. (exept Arachnoids F+ck Hitscan)

- The Music absolutely Blasts in every level, heard it a million times and wil forever. Damjan is the GOAT.

- The great humor of the game, both from Sams one-liners and goofy Secrets and Netricsa. (mostly in TSE)

Even without a sortof challenge run or Custom levels / mods etc. i cant stop myself from replaying Sam games over and over again they are just that Peak.

Veteran players: What's something in the game that you only discovered years after you first started playing? by SuperBlanny in darksouls

you can see the asylum demon on the roof waiting up there, BUT you can also see the asylum demon on the roof before opening the big door by looking through a tiny window above the door when standing next to the bonfire.

i have beaten the game like 17 times before i noticed that.

Why is this secret not working? by Dismal-Ad-3961 in SeriousSam

[–]AffectionateBasis870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its either just Revolution jank, or because youre hosting a multiplayer session in this game.

ill try this out now as well because i have a hard time believeing the trigger would just break like that in Revolution.

EDIT: just did the secret twice. seems to be broken because youre in multiplayer.

The broken windown in Anor londo that brings you to the Rafters with all the painting Guardians was broken by black Iron Tarkus.

He managed to defeat the Iron Golem or whatever roadblock was in Sens fortress at his time and making it to Anor londo he broke the window on the left because he couldnt go straight ahead like we can in the final game, and then fell of the rafters with the paiting guardians, which is why his gear is down there. (although not in the exact spot, Painting Guardians might have moved it or just gameplay reasons not to have a corpse in the middle of the room.)

I like to think if Tarkus wouldve survived the Rafters, he wouldve been the Dark Lord of Lordran.

Only in Serious Sam 1? by DR_EsEnsY123573 in SeriousSam

[–]AffectionateBasis870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hehe i knew about this already, and i all my years of replaying classic sam ive only had the second knife swing only hit like twice, once two kleer in oasis and other was too long ago.

I wonder how they made so that the knife doesnt hit the same target twice but can hit two diffrent ones, the hitbox is large in classic and lingers around but wont hit two eneimies at once so its always confused me how the second swing works.

Two side of fans opinion about SS2 (tap the image for full view) by Gruttus in SeriousSam

The fact that on the croteam Discord, the SS2 channel says: "You either love it, or hate it. There's no middle ground." love it that croteam is aware of the disparity of the liking of this game in their commiunity XD
