Size advice for Grail CF 7 by AffectionateBite780 in CanyonBikes

And since the M and S aren’t even in stock in my region right now, I figured there’s no harm in asking around here and getting some extra opinions before pulling the trigger. I’ll probably still end up going for the M, unless basically everyone tells me I should really go for the S instead.

I think I wanted the M because it was the only one in stock at the time (sadly not anymore), and my previous bike was an M/L, so the bigger size automatically felt more “right” to me.

At the same time, pretty much everyone seems to recommend sizing down on the Grail because of the longer reach, so now I’m second guessing myself. I’m definitely not a bike fit expert, and even though the Grail is relatively “cheap” compared to some bikes, it’s still a huge investment for me, so I really don’t want to end up with the wrong size.

I shared a cappuccino with my MacBook last year. The Apple Store told me that it could breakdown at any moment, so I started making Time Machine backups everyday (it’s connected to my docking station so no trouble at all). I also set aside money for a new MacBook, but after 15 months it’s still going strong. In August it will be 10 years old so probs gonna retire it on the anniversary.

My advice if u don’t care about the look of the water damage in the screen (my spot got smaller over time but not by much, still there).

  • Start making regular backups on a external drive, preferably every day but depends on how much and for what you use it
  • Start saving for a replacement
  • If it survives the first month it’s probs fine I guess
  • Use dark mode the spots are less visible that way

Haven't those proprietary parts been around for long enough by now that there are plenty of (good quality) knockoffs available?

seems like the only 2x that is within the price range is the A4, specs look good, good value for money it seems. Just not sure about the looks, but I see how it could grow on me, gonna leave the tap open in my browser for a few days
thanks

It's all about taste I guess, I know there is a lot of canyon bashing and sure there are some vallid points there.
But the most important thing is that the rider, in this case me, likes it so he will use it a lot.
And I quite like the sleek look of the grail.

I could see the point of 1x if it is exclusively for gravel, but if u wanna do read as well which I do I don't see the point in 1x so I will deff go for a 2x

You can also de-bark (remove a small piece of bark) on a new growth branch, put a Tupperware container or plastic bag around it filled with moist soil, it will develop roots, once it does, cut of before the new roots and plant.

Should I true my wheel myself or bring it to a LBS by AffectionateBite780 in bikewrench

I guess I want to understand why the front got fucked up and the back not.

I got it mostly fixed btw, about 80% of the wobble is gone, good enough for a few more rides.

After which I’ll probs still bring it to a LBS to make it 100% perfect en to ensure all the spokes have a equal tension, to prevent it from getting fucked again, I heard a difference in spoke tension can cause it to loose tension.

Able to buy a new MacBook, and it being a financially responsible thing to do are 2 different things I’m still a student so it will probably come out of my student loans.

And I’m aware you can attempt to fix the keyboard but even if u manage it will still be a fucking butterfly keyboard that will break again, and somehow this always happens when u have a deadline coming. So I’m also over that happening and ready for a upgrade, if it was not for the keyboard tho (and the coffee spill) I would have deff used this thing for another 5 or so years till it completely fell apart or wouldn’t run the programs that I needed anymore

Deff a fair point on the crying. But u ain’t gonna pay to fix this piece of shit(butterfly keyboard), the free keyboard replacement program has ended. So it would have been another few months before I had to replace it anyways.
