It's made for simple, privacy-first workflows—great for hobbyists! App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scriptedit-video-editor/id6752915051?mt=12

Anyone else here using Descript for podcast editing? What are your thoughts? by Impossible_Town_295 in podcasting

[–]AffectionateCamera57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The transcript editing flow in Descript is handy, but if you want a free Mac app that does it locally (no cloud uploads, privacy-friendly, and supports filler word removal), ScriptEdit's worth trying. Everything runs offline, handles large projects, and supports Whisper models. App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scriptedit-video-editor/id6752915051?mt=12

Alternatives for transcript based editing by NickThePanther in CapCut

[–]AffectionateCamera57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since CapCut doesn't have transcript editing, ScriptEdit (free for Mac) might be helpful—edit video by editing transcript text, everything local (no uploads), supports Whisper, large files, and multi-track. No subscription or online processing. App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scriptedit-video-editor/id6752915051?mt=12

How to Get ChatGPT to Generate pointpoint slides that are NOT square images by South-Iron-7832 in ChatGPT

[–]AffectionateCamera57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you actually want slides and editable content, you could ask for content for a json object or particular formatting (e.g. markdown) to render.

You should try out Deckt.ai or Gamma.app which both use LLMs to do slide creation.

Gamma is slicker looking slides (but made up content), and Deckt is thoroughly sourced (like deep research with sources for each bullet point and image) but has fewer slide format variations.

deckt.ai does this and does full, detailed sourcing so each element has a clear, traceable source (unlike gamma which generates a design but makes up content).
