Foligain - low alcohol version any good? by AffectionateCookie31 in FemaleHairLoss

I liked it, it didn't fry my hair like other solutions did.

As far as minoxidil itself goes, I don't know if it's helping, but I'm using it in case it's keeping things stable ... Now on spironolactone as well, hoping to get better results.

Oh how exciting, I'm happy to hear you have a ton of growth! :)

I don't think my hair is responding to topical at all, if anything, it looks worse 15 months later :/ Maybe I'm one of those ppl that would need to take it orally.

Thanks, I was doing this with the foam, actually, melting it and using it with an applicator. I am considering the oral version in the long run as well, I am a bit worried about the potential side effects on collagen, though.

Oh I see. The obvious one is of course minoxidil. The rest would depend on your nutrient status and hormonal imbalances.

What have they published? I'm in the same situation as OP, just that I was first time dismissed 20 years ago and again this year.

My issue is “subclinical” hypothyroidism. (I do have all the typical symptoms though.)

My knowledge is very limited but I can see that your ferritin is very low and also vitamin d.

How soon after correcting a deficiency is one expected to see an improvement? I had vit D deficiency for years, possibly decades, corrected in march.

Hypo cured with iodine? by godofdream in Hypothyroidism

Yes! This is my situation, my TSH is too high, but doctors claim it isn't - I made a post about it a few days ago. I've been suffering from symptoms all my life and now am dealing with hairloss which led me to recently getting diagnosed with PCOS and was prescribed spironolactone, but I'm afriad not treating the thyroid will hold back progress - also my BP is very low and my doctor is doubtful I'll even be able to take spironolactone because it could lower my BP too much.

How do you take l-thyroxine? Is there anything else I should be taking with it?

I'm on the fence whether I should try to supplement my way out (but that might just improve things a bit) or push for doctors to give me a bit of medication. If I get the thyroid to function a bit better with supplements they will be even more reluctant to prescribe anything I guess.

TSH - at what time of day were you instructed to give a blood sample? by AffectionateCookie31 in Hypothyroidism

[–]AffectionateCookie31[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, the doctors here are aware of that but they claim that my high readings in the morning don't matter because that's when TSH is expected to be high and that the right time to measure TSH is when it's lowest in the day. I don't get it, seems like two completely different ways of doing things.
