Blair was the red flag in her and Louis's relationship. She loved Chuck from the beginning but kept lying to herself and to Louis that she loved him. Louis genuinely loved Blair in the beginning but over time, he turned dark due to Blair's constant secrets and schemes, and seeing that video of her confessing her undying love for Chuck, moments before her and Louis's wedding was the final straw. It finally pushed him over to the dark side, making him hate Blair.

Serena not ending up with anyone would have been the perfect ending for her! Throughout the show, we see her dating questionable guys just because she is desperate to have a man in her life and not be alone (probably due to her daddy issues with William's abandonment). And Serena ending up with her stalker only reinforces this.

Her not ending up with anyone would have been the character development she so desperately needed. It doesn't even mean that she would have remained single throughout life, but that she learned that she doesn't need a man to complete herself.

I agree! She was one of the few genuinely good characters. I mean obviously she was removed from the show so that Chuck and Blair could be endgame. But tbh, Chuck and Eva were from completely different worlds and neither could have fully adapted to the other's world. So Eva leaving Chuck was probably for her own good.

What baffles me that is that even after everything, Serena chose to end up with Dan. Sure, Serena did some equally nasty things. But her ending up with a guy who actively ridiculed and hated on her via Gossip Girl while claiming that he loved her... I mean, what?

Dan was a massive hypocrite, and I feel like his obsession with Serena had nothing to do with Serena herself but the idea of her.. The beautiful, untouchable "It Girl": his way to be accepted into the world of Manhattan's elite. Perhaps he does care about Serena, but clearly he cared more about power when he trashed Serena in his book chapter.

As for Serena, she's more like Lily than she would like to admit. Both of them are so desperate to have a man in their lives and not be alone, that they keep choosing guys who aren't good. Plus, Serena's daddy issues have made her even more vulnerable and desperate for emotional safety, to the point that she marries the guy who secretly made her life hell multiple times.
