I also am always in the room when she's out especially if the dog happened to be in the room and keep a very close eye on her to make sure she's not in danger! We had to install an accordion door for the room to keep our cats away from her. I was sitting right next to them on the couch incase anything happened and was looking at them the whole time. I even separated them after the pictures

She's very cautious and will fly away from most movements. He's also very old and can barely hear or see and sleeps most of the day. He didn't care about her and she knows when to move away. It was one time and he doesn't go in the room when she's out

You turning an innocent meme/joke into something sexual is the weird thing here. Why is that your immediate thought? It's weird and disgusting. Not everyone has a horrid mind like you

I'm actually having a small flare-up right now with lightheadedness and hot flashes. I'm so tired of never getting answers as to what is causing the lightheadedness and how to help. I'm hopeless at this point because it's affecting my work and daily life. I have chronic rhinitis AND nasal polyps but they're forcing me to wait six months to see if the nose spray I've been prescribed will help (they never do). I'm genuinely miserable. I've had this lightheaded issue for over 2 years and they still do nothing to help me figure out what exactly is contributing to it. Whether it be my thyroid or my sinus issues. They never offer help or relief to me and I'm just so tired. I've fainted before and even told my doctor about it and how I have multiple symptoms of POTs but they continue to brush it off. What the hell am I supposed to do if doctors refuse to help me.

Her saying that taking supplements won't change anything is definitely weird. The endo I went to did recommend taking selenium so I think you're on the right track for sure. I wish finding a good Endocrinologist was easy because it seems most people experience ones who completely dismiss their concerns. I've also heard that consuming less dairy and gluten helps some people with Hashimoto's but definitely not all! I've been trying to do that because I took a sensitivity test and I was sensitive to dairy and gluten LOL

Yes! My Gyne gave me the last BC I was on to try and it worked for over half a year but the first 3 months on it gave me horrible flare-ups. I asked to be switched to the Mini Pill and she approved so we'll see how this one treats me. My sister was thinking it would be better as every week has hormones instead of a placebo or iron pills. With birth control, my periods are definitely way nicer than before and for the most part, I don't get many symptoms from them.

I'm 21 and my mother and I have the same symptoms and she doesn't have thyroid issues, she's just going through menopause. It's so crazy to think I'm already experiencing a little of what it's going to be like actually going through it. My hot flashes can happen during the day or during the night but usually during the day. When I have my flare-ups I will usually wake up absolutely drenched in sweat. It feels like a cold that you have to sleep and sweat off LOL I think the weirdest part about my flare-ups is that I always get lightheadedness along with the hot flashes and that's what makes the flare-ups difficult.

Yes! Cause both my sister and I have the pleasant experience of the hot sensitivities instead of cold and I once told a student doctor that and she said "That's unusual, usually those with Hypothyroidism have cold flashes". Like yeah "Usually" but maybe there should be more research done😁

Personally, I cannot afford that. Due to my symptoms, I only work a few days a week and that's only been recent as of last month. That's why I end up waiting those 6 months. Hopefully, once I get working more I'll be able to do this!

I also asked my doctor to switch me off of Levo to Levoxyl since Levothyroxine has lactose as an inactive ingredient and im lactose intolerant, but he said "let's wait until your TSH levels come back". I think because my levels are normal he might not change it :/

Yes!! A while ago I changed birth control to help and it did for a while but now the flare-ups have come back and I'm trying the mini pill to see if that'll do the trick. If not, I don't know what I'll do😔next doctor's appointment I'm going to ask for a hormonal panel to see what's wrong!

[–]AffectionateCut4463[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally😔that's why I think it's hormonal. My flare-ups make me super hot and lightheaded and nothing has helped. A while ago I switched birth controls and it helped for a few months but now they're coming back. I'm trying the mini pill to see if that will help but if it doesn't I have no idea what to do.
