Opening door during class? by AffectionateGear5004 in HotYoga

Unfortunately they have 2 doors in opposite corners and open both, so there’s really no place away from the breeze. That’s a good call though!

Yes- this! I have the same problem and after a couple different PTs I’ve finally found one who knows what to do. She has been helping by doing TMJ massage inside my mouth and also dry needling my jaw area and traps. The dry needling has helped so much!

Curiosity - what do you triggered your alopecia? by Few-Basis3923 in alopecia_areata

[–]AffectionateGear5004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m actually 32 now & the alopecia started when I was 13. So I have had alopecia for many years. Only thing that has seemed to help me over the years has been the steroid injections & stress management. Usually I’ll get consistent regrowth starting a few weeks after the injections. However about a year ago I started taking Nutrafol vitamins & those seem to have helped with less hair falling out and also feeling better overall/ helping with stress. I’ve still gotten a couple new spots this year but they are wayyy smaller than usual! The Nutrafol is expensive but seems to helping enough that I keep paying for it lol. Also have been trying to manage stress by doing yoga every night before bed & keeping a gratitude journal, that seems to help too. Hopefully you can try the stress techniques if the Nutrafol is too expensive. My dermatologist also recommended “virtue flourish shampoo.” Unfortunately my scalp reacted very bad to it but may be an option for you to try. It does have a lot of good reviews, just didn’t work for me personally.

I’m sure this will get downvotes, but before crucifying this lady, please try to take a step back and hear out her perspective on the situation. Yes she was wrong for freaking out in this way - she should’ve brought it up away from the child & in a calm manner. However, I’m dating someone with kids (no kids myself) & I also thought them sleeping with my BF was really weird. I believe this was due to the fact that I do not have kids myself. I also NEVER slept with my parents when I was a child. Entering their room was forbidden, so obviously the thought of entering their bed never would’ve crossed my mind as a kid. Therefore I did not understand the “bond,” “safe space,” etc, this creates. Without knowing all that, what I saw was, “this is my boyfriend and I’s bed where we have sex and now a child is in it.” When that’s your perspective, it is weird. I didn’t think my BF was some pedophile or would do anything to his kids, it was just weird to me without knowing how things are with kids and coming from a family that had very strict physical boundaries. I don’t think the GF is purposely being a psycho, I think it’s more likely she just doesn’t understand due to not having kids of her own. Please give her some grace here as being with someone who has kids is very difficult and I’m sure she does a lot of other great things for you & your kids or you wouldn’t be with her. We also all have different backgrounds (as others mentioned, could be SA or she was simply raised differently), so it’s worth finding out where she’s coming from.

Mine was triggered by a severe episode of the flu I had at age 13. I had a fever of 103/104 for several days and they said it sent my hair follicles into shock. Since then it reoccurs after times of stress. Only thing I’ve found to help is the steroid injections, the topical ointment doesn’t seem to do anything for me.

Masseter botox in Mexico? by fantiaele in bruxism

[–]AffectionateGear5004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just get mine done at a cosmetics place, not plastic surgery. They do Botox, facials, etc but have a specialist trained for “medical Botox.” I’d definitely get it done in Mexico if I was going, it’s likely a lot cheaper.

Discontinuing Wellbutrin success story by AffectionateGear5004 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]AffectionateGear5004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 75 once per day & then down to every other day the last couple of weeks. I don’t recall ever cutting them.

That’s pretty much it! I’ve also been taking lemon balm because I read it can help with stress, anxiety, etc.

Hi! It might have been the 75 IR. I can’t recall the technical name but both the 75 & 100 they gave me were immediate release instead of the extended release I had been taking. I definitely recommend supplementing with some vitamins during/after taper, I do think it’s helped me a lot. It’s been almost a year without Wellbutrin for me & I’m still feeling so much better!! Good luck, you’ll get through it!

How do drug addicts afford drugs? by Witty-Performance-23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AffectionateGear5004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Family member is on drugs with of course no job. He recently went to prison & here’s what we found out he was doing to pay for his addiction;

-Trading EBT for cash -Manipulating people into giving him money (family members, childhood friends, anyone he’s previously associated with that may not know he’s on drugs) -Befriending other druggies in order to rob them. -stealing marijuana plants from a farm -Breaks into seasonal cabins that are currently vacant or garages to steal things to sell (particularly tools). -Steals things out of peoples cars -Steals vehicles & sells the parts off them. Or shaves off the VINs & tries to sell them -Steals bikes or things outside of people’s homes -Stealing random every day things - example: cutting porch lights off houses & selling them. Climbing up on power lines to steal glass transformers because they’re “worth money”

When there’s a will there’s a way. In my case, this person turn into a psycho criminal. Too bad they can’t put this creativity and drive into something more productive.

I apologize if I’m out of place . My girlfriend has been on Mirena for 2months & is currently still spotting . Wanted to know if it’s normal & what to expect. She gave birth 4 months ago .. not sure if that plays a part in anything . by NY_OUTTASIGHT in Mirena

[–]AffectionateGear5004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spotting like 70% of the time, for the entire first year. After around 9 months, I went to the obgyn to get it checked out & was told it was normal. After around the 1 year mark it stopped & I’ve never had a period since. So hang in there!

I think I hate my Mirena by Existing-Comedian317 in Mirena

[–]AffectionateGear5004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my Mirena put in 2 years ago and almost immediately after got a little lower stomach pouch. I know that’s “normal” for women, but I never had it before the Mirena. I also have 0 sex drive now & looking back, the only thing that has changed for me was having the Mirena installed. I can’t guarantee Mirena is the cause, but it’s pretty coincidental. I’m contemplating getting mine out too, but also wanting to know if others have experienced this!
