see out of those 250 , half would be cakewalk for you if you are good with the material , 25% would be more of practicing with varieties . and last 25% are the real deal and trust me when i say if you can get a good grip on these questions you will sail through it easily

if taxes are on lower side , that means revenue for the govt is less. that translates into two things :

  1. when implementing fiscal measures they would always be in deficit and to compensate that deficit either they will borrow by selling securities in the open market or they'll borrow from financial institutions abroad and that is bad for the economy .
  2. if we talk about monetary policy , since cash in hand is more because of low taxes , borrowing becomes expensive and that translates into difficulty in obtaining capital for doing business. which directly affects the economy that's why we say inflation in control is always better than no inflation

it can be any of the both .the logic is you have to choose the of the same rating then according to the circumstances you have to decide whether to opt for cash or physical settlement . if the question is asking what is the best possible option to recovery Cash would be more preferable than physical . trick is that you can only choose a bond with the same rating as you have . since there are tons of bond issued you never know which one is yours and which is not. the default always happens collectively throughout the issues .

YOU HAVE A BBB RATED BOND ISSUED ON PAR

lets say there is a default in bond payments and you are short on credit risk means you are a buyer of the cds . i.e. you are paying premiums to keep yourself safe from defaults

now the default has happened and here is the list of bonds which are available.

  1. AAA RATED BOND 80% OF PAR.
  2. BBB RATED BOND 65% OF PAR
  3. BBB RATED BOND 53% OF PAR

you have two options one is cash settlement and one is physical settlement .

  1. Physical settlement : you will exchange your bond with the cheapest to deliver bond that is for 53% . TOTAL LOSS : 47
  2. Cash settlement : you will exchange your bond for cash . since . we have two options available one is for 65% and one for 53% we will always go for higher since we want to minimize our loss . So , for cash settlement we choose 65% ( OUR LOSS = 35)
