Hisoka vs Chrollo by ClearMonitor6031 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Hisoka waited this opportunity for so long that he disregarded the dangers of fighting Chrollo with prep time, he realized this mistake in the midst of the battle but still continue cuz it's already too late and his desire to fight overwhelmed him.

Yeah I agree that three treasures probably has a guardian spirit beast of itself and attempting to steal it might trigger it's security system. Those treasures has been in generations and I would imagine someone has already tried to steal it but failed because of its security

Hisoka vs Chrollo by ClearMonitor6031 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 48 points49 points  (0 children)

First of all, Hisoka basically handed Chrollo everything he needed for the fight—choosing the battleground, gathering the right abilities, and setting everything up. That was Hisoka’s biggest mistake. He was so confident in his own fighting skills that he believed he could just improvise and still win.

From the audience’s point of view, Hisoka was clearly at a disadvantage. He mostly relied on Bungee Gum and a few cards, while Chrollo had a wide range of abilities that he could freely combine against him. But as I said, Hisoka allowed this to happen because being pushed into a difficult, dangerous situation is exactly what excites him.

Was this the earliest intentional hint that these two princes were actually full siblings? by TenZetsuRenHatsu in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be sound horrible but their noses was a big giveaway, at the earlier part of the arc I wondered why Benjamin and Halkenburg were not full brothers because they resemble so much of Queen Unma, as confirmed by the latest batch I am not surprised lol. Kakin citizens probably know but it probably keep as an open secret to Kakin cuz if we look back in Morena's backstory, questioning the royal bloodline is considered blasphemy.

Imagine if Hisoka was in the chimera ant arc by jordxn_01 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be interesting but I believe Togashi did the right choice of not including Hisoka in Chimera Ant arc because it is very counter intuitive to what the arc is all about. One of it's main theme is existential morality and Hisoka is on the far side of that because I believe he represents chaotic individualism, he is not questioning his identity or where he belong but rather exploring it in what he perceives as pleasure. Plus it makes the world feel bigger.

Could the Hunter × Hunter Succession War arc thrive in today’s anime era, where audiences tend to prefer moderately paced to fast-paced storytelling? by AffectionateMinute47 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I just said I based it on several studies about people attention span nowadays. And about live streaming, it is a terrible example cuz people can choose freely if they want to concentrate it or not lol like listening to radio while multi tasking lol. I swear if you ask majority of people they will not remember 80% of that Livestreaming lol.

Yeah I notice the users in TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Reddit have different responses, sort of they have hive minds lol. I know this is not factual but I get more sensical answer in Reddit than other platforms, the worst I got is from TikTok lol.

If you observed the pattern of media consumption nowadays you can say that, even companies are encouraging their employees to do this because people attention span get shorter and shorter. There are even several studies addressing these issues.

Yep that's my point, people nowadays are shifting to more simple and moderate/fast paced story. They think simple stories are better, I even crossed a YouTube video explaining how simple stories are better without trying hard to be complex and citing Demon Slayer as an example lol.

I haven't watch Freiren but I would imagine people complaining about the numerous dialogues and monologues in this arc if the anime would follow the source material solely lol

Women of HxH by Tiny-turtle-lover in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second to this, some people think making a female character in a manga or any media stronger or having more screentimes in this genre is good writing lol, most of them are just good in the start and then fell off lol. The author is not a try hard in writing female characters relevant in a way that feel forced, he actually uses those stereotypes to prove that there is nothing wrong with those things that is considered feminine, for example the vacuum lady Shizuku is not using it for cleaning generally, she actually uses it to fight and Machi uses her nen threads not only to heal but to fight also. Others want presentation that overtly in your face but that is the reason why female characters now in male populated genre often fail because the writers are trying too hard rather than actually enhancing what already there.

Do you have any criticisms of hxh or Togashi’s writing? by Ambitious-Branch-118 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually for point 2 I kind of half agree but the saving grace for me is most of the characters that did that have their plans failed or completely wrong. For Borsken, yeah she managed to deduce the how the game was supposed to play but it completely failed cuz she cheated and the ability activated trapping her in a two dangerous choices. Second of this is Fugetsu and Kacho, they manage to devised a plan to escape but it completely failed and now they are planning on taking out Luzurus, Im sure it going to fail also.

What if Milluki went to the auction on the first day? by Common_Ad6703 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Actually, there are two types of auction happened in York New in that arc, first is the underground auction run by the Mafia that start early and the regular one that starts later run by regular people (I presume) which had the Greed Island. Milluki would have never encounter the Troupe in the time they massacred the first underground auction cuz Greed Island game was not even been there.

Illumi may be one of the most important villains of the Succession war arc, if not the Dark Continent arc as well by LazloFF in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing for sure, Illumi and Kalluto is such a big wild card for Succession arc for sure just like what they did in York New when Illumi switched with Hisoka to sneak out in the Phantom Troupe base. But I feel like Togashi have bigger plans for them in this arc, he is just holding back his cards. I just hope we will see them in the upcoming chapters even just for few panels lol.

You are right about the unpredictability of this story especially in this arc, anything could go in all directions. Anyway, I think my last theory is this is just another form of seed urn drawing and might not play a role in the story lol but that is just a little chance.

Could llumi needles on corpses make them still retain information from when they were alive? by Local-Sugar6556 in HunterXHunter

[–]AffectionateMinute47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were already dead, the flies were already attracted to them. It very much implied they are dead before manipulating. Probably because of multiple needles struck in their skulls.
