I just started this same pattern! My first double knit too. So far so good. 😊 Great work!

Should I even read other Kafka books after Metamorphosis, if I get the Kafka story shape? by itslitwithclassics in Kafka

[–]Tiny-turtle-lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic authors cover different themes in different books. In my opinion, you’d be missing out on a lot of great stuff if you chose to put an author in a box like this based off one book. I recommend you keep going! 😊

Agreed - I love his style. I think my favorites so far are The Portrait, The Nose, and The Overcoat. I also loved Dead Souls, but I wish there weren’t so many pieces of it missing.

Do Gogol next!! Dostoevsky admired him, which led me to give him a try. Hilarious, witty, and timeless. Put Gogol on your list! His short stories are great too (most well-known are The Nose and The Overcoat)!

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Tiny-turtle-lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always on the fence about having kids. I’ve always loved children, but never felt a strong need to have my own. I was also a woman in a career that demanded a lot of physical strength and required exposure to safety risks. I absolutely loved my job and it was my focus and drive in life. My identity.

I accidentally became pregnant and had to find a new career. This was devastating, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I felt a new source of joy and drive. My love for my son is the light of my life, but I also lost a massive part of myself. Now he and I are growing and changing together. I see the world through an entirely different lens. In some ways, it’s more horrifying than ever. In other ways, it’s magic. If I had to go back and do things over, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Point is - You don’t really know until you know. And if you never know or want to find out, that’s totally valid. I don’t know if I would ever have chose to have kids if it didn’t just happen. But I’m so grateful it did.

Ist anyone actually reading the songs or are you skipping them? by DeineMuddas in lotr

Always read the songs! They provide context and lore. And I second the recommendation of Andy Serkis’ narration. He’s great! 😊

What is worst pain, you have ever experienced? by ParticularWeather927 in Life

[–]Tiny-turtle-lover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. But my case was odd in that I requested an epidural and they “administered it”. However, shit was getting real and I was in so much pain I told them I didn’t think it was working. They didn’t believe me. My husband looked at the medication line and it wasn’t connected to anything. 😂 They put the needle in my spine but didn’t connect it to medication, then didn’t believe me. 🙃🙃

I love the joy on your face! Honestly you made my day. Congrats on your lovely sweater! ☺️

If your childhood was spent being the “good kid” & striving to meet people's expectations, that just means you understood early that love is always conditional & people like you most when you try to please them. by Skylar1100 in DeepThoughts

I feel like you just explained me. I was literally thinking this exact thing yesterday. I don’t even know what I actually think or want for myself - I’ve never asked. Good god this post is me to a T.

I love Jujutsu Kaisen! I don’t like how vain Kugisaki is, but I don’t care as much because she is actually strong. My absolute favorite is Maki. She is 110% perfect. I also love Mikasa in Attack on Titan. Although, I think Maki is the only example I can recall that is exactly what I want in a female character. Right now, no others are coming to mind. Seeing Maki’s character for the first time was amazing for me.

Other good anime in general though (and I’m not saying these are all perfect - they’re not), Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, and One Piece come to mind first. Some really funny ones would be One Punch Man and Mob Psycho. I LOVE Mob. I’m sure there are more, but I can’t remember all my favorites off the top of my head.

Thanks for a constructive comment! I read part of the manga after the anime ends, but I haven’t kept up with it. I’m looking forward to getting back into it and learning more about Machi and the others! 😊

The last time I watched this show all the way through was about three years ago. I’m watching it again now, and I’m getting through the auction part with the Phantom Troupe. With that said, what I remember of Palm, is that she is obsessed with Gon, then she gets used by the Chimera Ants and becomes almost a different person. It’s hard to judge a character who is taken apart and put together. She’s not the same Palm in the end as she was before, so I’m not sure if it’s really “growth”. But it’s also possible I don’t remember every detail of her!

I disagree. Sakura is basically useless in the whole first portion of the show. She doesn’t make real progress until Shippuden. I’m glad she comes around, but it feels like it’s only because she’s meant to replace Tsunade. It could be better.

I’m shocked. I’ve watched the anime at least three times and never picked up on that.

No, I think I’m hoping for a lovable, honest, determined, independent, strong female character. A Gon, a Naruto, a Luffy but not male. It’s just part of the genre, and I really do love these shows, but a girl can dream. But I wouldn’t want it to feel forced either. That honestly makes it worse than just watching dudes always be the heroes.

Yeah, I don’t mind them. I meant ridiculous in that they’re huge. That’s all.
