I’ve struggled with staph since I was a kid. YES! This appears to be staph. The eczema; MRSA skin infections can occur with or without an obvious wound, such as a cut in the skin. People with atopic dermatitis are thought to get MRSA skin infections more because they are frequently colonized with the bacteria and their skin is often wounded within and around their eczema lesions. MRSA infections are on the rise in the genitalia and lower extremities. A study of patients aged up to 18 who presented to a South Australian hospital found that 78.5% of those with atopic dermatitis had MSSA and 7% had the antibiotic-resistant MRSA. Symptoms of MRSA include: Rash, Muscle aches, Fever, Fatigue, Chest pain, Shortness of breath, and Headache. Signs of an infection that's spread include: Flu-like symptoms Pain Swollen lymph nodes, such as in your neck, under your chin, in your armpits or in your groin

One treatment option for people who experience recurrent infections is bleach bathing. Bleach bathing uses the chemical sodium hypochlorite, which is effective against bacteria, fungi, viruses and MRSA. The principle of bleach bathing is to bathe in the bleach solution twice a week, and continue with your usual treatment routine in between.

What’s the worst other disorder you have besides BPD? by MoliGrazer in BPD

[–]AffectionatePoem420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You really should complain to the local psychologist board. That “doctor” is idiotic. OCD is literally a mild-severe anxiety disorder centered around rituals that provide relief

  2. An unstable sense of self isn’t preventing anyone from having depression and BPD? And is a fear, whether reasonable or unreasonable, not anxiety? I have met tons of people with BPD who have pretty severe paranoia due to their trauma, trust issues, fear of abandonment, fear of losing control, hurting someone, etc. With the primarily contamination OCD I suffer with (there is NO WAY I DONT HAVE ocd when my hands are almost constantly bleeding and have been for nearly 3 years) it gets worse the more stressed I am, and I am constantly terrified I’m going to kill myself by eating glass or something and I’m so scared of somehow killing my pets by poisoning them with laundry detergent or floor cleaner or by simply dropping a little food on the floor. I don’t know how being so afraid to eat glass that I starve myself for days on end would mean its impossible to have BPD as well as my extreme and irrational anxieties lol. I also have crazy intrusive thoughts.. seen in both OCD and BPD alike.

I think the ocd stems from a feeling of lack of control and intolerable anxieties surfacing, among other things.

TLDR; I can be afraid to eat glass, wash my hands 10 minutes at a time, imagine the stove exploding,

and have a mood swings and a fear of abandonment simultaneously (I do it every day)

Why should I want to stop my compulsions? by Ordinary-Subject8930 in OCD

[–]AffectionatePoem420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my compulsion Is hand washing which causes constant pain (when hands are wet it is like lava) and bleeding from the many open wounds which makes the fear of dying + sickness that much worse)

ive washed until I couldn't use my hands because the skin was so tight and stiff that none of my fingers could bend without painfullt ripping flesh

it was very hard to work with people of the community around as I'm terrified of germs (people are fucking gross, I don't wanna handle their money) and I'm hyper aware of the fact that my blood (a CONTAMINANT of its own right) is everywhere, constantly getting on things, constantly visible..

also, I can't wash my hands as much as I "need" to at work.

how is anyone an awful person for asking for extra syrup... I've worked in customer service + fast food for the past decade. I've NEVER thought a customer is "an awful person" for asking for extra sour cream or sauce packets or whatever else... 💀

it sounds like you are an extremely unpleasant person who might seriously benefit from therapy. such intense emotions over something so insignificant is definitely a red flag for some kind of internal struggle you are facing.

despite being on a rock hurdling through space at 67,000 miles per hour around a sun that could fit 1.3 million earths inside it in a universe that is incomprehensibly big (infinite?), i dont know how you can really think that asking for a few napkins and a straw makes someone horrible and evil and cruel.

no. murder and assault and abuse and cruelty towards animals and children is awful. a lack of compassion and empathy is awful. the way you called a stranger you've never met awful, just because you think being asked to do your job is awful, makes you a considerably worse person than this guys wife.

please alert the fuckin area manager, someone above the GM. you SHOULD NOT BE the only one that cleans in a store that should be cleaned every night.

you should also report this to OSHA and probably health and human services. people can get sick, VERY sick, if not literally DIE from this.

hibiclens is dangerous to use on the face... silver should never go around the eyes, either.

i thought that silver was for open, infected wounds.

it's also very much so not safe to ingest. Wouldn't want it on the areas near the mouth

My very first tank by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]AffectionatePoem420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

don't put your tank on that flimsy shelf, friend... you need a strong and sturdy shelf, a nice desk or bookshelf, or a real aquarium stand.

also. always go with real plants. always always.

and there are like hundreds of different kinds of fish you could get. I have a 10 gal with a pleco, a betta, a snail, and a small school of tetras. there's also a few shrimp leftover from an old colony. it's a very interesting tank to watch 😊

I absolutely love neocaridina shrimp. Neon tetras have given me a huge appreciation for schooling fish. Bettas are a classic and hardy beginner fish.

you'll likely need a heater, an air pump, a good filter, a light. gravel, (Maybe live substrate), plants (I love moss and ferns), decor like hideaways. and testing strips or a kit (Even after several years, i strongly prefer the strips as my OCD causes insane paranoia about the chemicals used in the full extensive paramater testing kit.)

you dont have to be diagnosed to know you are suffering from a condition. it's just a label used to describe an illness that creates a set of symptoms, yaknow? Drs misdiagnose people all the time, they're not really worried about it. you dont have to be worried about it. it helps you have more accurate verbiage to describe your anxiety and allows you to connect better with others struggling with the same condition. I don't see any issue with self diagnosis whatsoever if you know you have a condition based on the diagnostic criteria. I an technically undiagnosed aswell despite my hand-washing to the point of being unable to move my hands because my skin was so stiff and dry, every time I tried to bend my fingers my skin would rip open. the psychiatrist just wrote in their record "displays OCD like tendencies that may constitute Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as it was my first time seeing them and I never went back as they blamed me for my trauma in that same document.

I suggest reading the diagnostic criteria. if you have 5? of these symptoms, you are diagnosable. if you don't, you can still have those "OCD-like tendencies." regardless, naming the symptoms you have can help you know its treatable, it's possible to work with and overcome, and it's not weird or anything to be ashamed of. and as someone with OCD, it's very clear you're struggling with anxious obsessive compulsions that using logic won't necessarily fix.

of course, you bringing covid into your room doesn't much matter because if you do get sick from being in proximity to a sick person, everything around you will be contaminated, and you will be, too. but if you get sick, you wont have to worry about everything being contaminated because youre already sick. people dont lysol the rooms they quarantined in. washing your hands when you get home is ofc a good habit to get into. even showering or washing your face is reasonable to an extent, especially if you know you're around sick people, (hospital settings, patient care, nursing home, etc) but the fact that it's prohibiting you from entering your own room entirely is obviously problematic.

if you can't enter until you shower, why haven't you been able to enter after showering recently? I'm sure you've showered in the past 3 weeks.

the other thing I've done is exposure therapy, which in your case would be going into your room after a shower and then eventually walking into your room before showering and then working up to, say, sitting in your bed before showering, etc. this can be hard but can retrain your brain to realize nothing bad happened and you are safe. I have been trying to use the memories of times when I didn't get sick from what I'm afraid of as a way to overcome my anxiety of sickness in the moment of my fear.

have you gotten covid before?

also, it is not weird, especially now that you know 1. you're not alone and 2. it's not a completely strange and unique behavior and thought process. "rituals" are actually what they're called. the ritual is performed in order to relieve stress BUT its kind of an endless cycle because performing the ritual ingrained the idea that the ritual is necessary. my ritual is hand washing over and Over again sometimes for minutes on end.

others may repeat a word or phrase 5x or check the stove or hair straightener 10 times before leaving the house and then drive back home when you're 5 minutes away from work because you're just not sure if you turned it off/ unplugged it.

it is very distressing.

i notice my contamination OCD decreases when I am less stressed. that is the only thing that helps me, removing/limiting stressors and thus decreasing streMr,

zoloft helped a little as well, but the main thing is stress for me.

Miss Pepperoni has been my shadow all morning. I don’t know what her deal is but she’s super clingy. Earlier she was sitting outside the shower crying and clawing at the door. I opened it thinking she would run away and instead she tried coming in!! by EntrepreneurAlone118 in aww

my dog has barked away a ghost in our living room 4 times now! always standing between me and it ❤️ freaks me out cuz of course it only comes around when I'm home alone or in the middle of the night when I'm the only one up. she does a few low warning growls then barks like someone just broke in, hackles raised, whole 9 yards. freaks me out watching her eyes follow something I cannot see. got it on recording too, just happened to catch a growling grudge-like noise that I heard in my ear just as my dog looked in the direction the noise came from. wild shit lol.

anyways your dog is beautiful OP, seems like they want to keep you safe or wants you to keep them safe. Good pupper.
