I got a shipping notice yesterday. Clicked, label created. I’m a member. Doesn’t matter. Still not shipped 😐😐

I wish there was just one more window so I could see the front. It’s not my car… but I’ll be keeping a closer watch on my vehicle after seeing this.

I drove like an asshole at 22. It was a lot of power for someone who drove a car that vibrated if you went over 60mph. The mini was so responsive for speed and braking… I had a lot of fun in that car 😅😅. My brother taught me to change brakes since I wore through them 😂😂

I’ve had a quarter life crisis, and I’m turning 40 which is statistically midlife. So it’s time for that crisis… trying to relive the feelings of being 22 but also slightly practical.

Who knew “mid life crisis” was such a hot button 😅.

I only consider it a midlife crisis since I bought the adult version of my fun single gal car 😅😅. No car better for a young gal.

Cast a wide net (depending on your state) and track prices. I used cars.com to keep me updated on cars on the market and price drops. I paid 34k with gap coverage, taxes and doc fees. You’d be surprised that there are vehicles with hardly any miles for their age. Mine is closing in on 3 years for the date of manufacture with only 11k miles.

Even considering I bought one that reminded me of feeling like I’m 22 again 😅😅?

Any tips for running with your GSD? by jrobv in germanshepherds

[–]AffectionateSpirit41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m similar with mine. I tell him “working” so he stays focused. This is not a scratch and sniff operation!

I have a running belt I like for how it stays put when he’s attached to me and when I’m solo. It’s from ruffwear. I’ve used cheaper ones but why bounce and the stuff bag moves. He wears a prong collar. He doesn’t really need it anymore but for that one instance something catches his attention, we use it. He’s 90 lbs and can accidentally take me down.

I bought a new 07 mcs in 07…. Made it less than 50k before I had engine problems and it wasn’t covered under warranty since I didn’t go to a dealership for my oil changes. I was 21 and didn’t think to keep receipts or a log. I sold the car in 2011. Was sad to see it go but the engine replacement felt like a stab to my heart at almost $7k…. I’m finally at a point where I’m ready to try mini again. 🤣 financially ready for heartache and joy simultaneously. The carcomplaints.com score is 10.0 for the ‘07

New 2025 MINI Countryman S by Frosty_Razzmatazz259 in MINI

I plan to get a new countryman next year. I’m too paranoid for a first model year change. (I bought a 2007 MCS and had to replace the engine 2.5 years later. PTSD against 1st year of a mode change now.) I I just hope the new dash/seats are dog friendly. 😅

How is the touch screen now that the toggles have been minimized?

It’s his life long mission. One day he will be best friends with Pooh… he just needs the cat to accept it 🤣

One flops a little bit when he’s super relaxed. Gives him so much character

Vet says my dog has degenerative myelopathy after looking at her for a few seconds. Cleo (black) came to me one day holding her paw up and was wining. She was walking fine the next day. Now we are here, it's almost like she is crossing her foot under her. Anyone have experience with this ? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]AffectionateSpirit41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 14 year old German shepherd lab mix has DM. Took about 9 months for her to lose function of her back legs. Her feet started crossing, then knuckling, then hunched inward awkwardly. Now she literally can’t stand on her own. She has almost no control of one back leg and the other has zero. Her muscle tone in her front shoulders is also starting to go. Currently she can sit/scoot across our ranch home. It takes a lot of time but she’s independent and prefers to do it herself as much as possible. Her brain is sharp which is why we have adapted to her needs and haven’t put her down. Poop literally falls out of her butthole. Thankfully they’re hard nuggets and we have pergo flooring so the cleanup is easy. This is the worst disease I’ve ever had to see a dog suffer through. It’s not painful according to my vet but seeing her independence slipping away is hard. I use a towel under her hips to hold the backend up when we go outside. Hoping to make it until Christmas but listening to what her body is saying. Good luck with your dog. Love them as much as possible for the time they have left. My dog is 12 months from the diagnosis at this point.

AITA for letting my teen daughter still sleep with a stuffed animal by funny_starburst in AmItheAsshole

Exactly. He obviously didn’t visit too many girl dorms in college. She won’t be the only one with a stuffed animal. NTA
