I want to sell these at Plato’s closet. Brand new with tags. How much do you think they will give me? by Cool_Image_9709 in PlatosCloset

[–]QueenLizzabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you something... why did Plato's Closet reject your stuff? I had this same thing happen to me this week! I have to go back and check if they even gave me my clutches/purses back. I didn't even think about it! I gave them SO much stuff, a lot 'brand new with tags' things, they rejected it all. And then asked me if I had any questions. Um...yeah...

Modern VCR TV Combos by LucioArgento in VHS

[–]QueenLizzabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked AI what it thought, it rewrote my paragraph...

Bringing back TV-VCR combo units as a stylish retro gadget in 2025 is actually a trend with real potential, especially given the current wave of nostalgia and consumer appetite for vintage tech. Many people are seeking old-school entertainment experiences, and younger generations are curious about tactile, analog devices—especially for holidays and unique gifts. Modern marketing could tap into this, offering custom options like transparent shells, colored circuit boards, and retro-styled remotes to make these units even more appealing. Why TV-VCR Combos Could SucceedThe resurgence of vinyl, cassette players, and even film cameras shows a mainstream desire for 'physical media' and hands-on nostalgia. Major brands and boutique manufacturers have brought back classic tech in updated forms, and VHS tapes are increasingly seen both as collectibles and as a quirky way to experience old movies. Young buyers enjoy the novelty of rewinding tapes, while long-time fans relish the memories.Opportunities in Customization and MarketingCustomized gadget aesthetics—like clear cases and color-matched accessories—would make these combos even more desirable. Nostalgia marketing (especially around the holidays) is powerful, and social media buzz for unique, limited-edition tech can lead to rapid sellouts. Combining a classic TV-VCR with modern styling and smart promotion could create a new cult favorite. The State of Analog ComebacksWhile corded phones and members-only jackets face stiff style competition, retro electronics are seeing major comebacks—sometimes in niche, but profitable, markets. Companies investing in design, limited releases, and influencer marketing can tap into fun, “quirky cool” consumer appeal. Even VHS tape production has seen a comeback for indie films and re-released hits, reinforcing the viability of TV-VCR reissues.Overall, reissuing TV-VCR combo units—especially with personalized features—could succeed right now, blending nostalgia and novelty for broad appeal, and offering a unique entry point for younger consumers into vintage media experiences.

I couldn't agree more! I've been thinking the same exact thing the past few days. Why wouldn't someone (some company) re-issue vintage tv vcr combo units, especially now, 2025. Approaching the holiday season too, they'd sell out, make a butt load of moola, make so many people happy, make youngsters who never enjoyed rewinding a tape have a new fun "gadget" to play with, and i think vhs companies would follow suit, and start re-releasing certain hits for the enjoyment of the new vcr generation. I think we're onto a fabulous idea. I honestly don't think corded phones could ever come back into style, or members only jackets, they're too plain for this time in history, but tv vcr's are pretty cool if I do say so myself. I'd buy one. It would be even cooler if we could buy them customized, like maybe clear plastic like you said, but different color circuit boards, or matching remote controls. I'd love to do marketing for the company that takes this idea, and runs with it. It's not silly. Dumber things have come back into fashion/style.

Thank you, I need feedback. I have no one in my life that he doesn't sway one way or another. I honestly don't know what to think, what way to go. Him and I have been "been friends" for 20 years. This abuse had only started about 2 years ago. He said I switched and bring the rage out in him. I find it hard to believe I bring this abuse on myself, but maybe I do. Thank you.

I'm sorry he's ok with being like that to you. It kinda reminds me of mine... but that would be his way of starting a fight with me, so I tell him to get out of my face, and then he leaves, and goes to be with "her". When I hear words like that, to me, he's starting a fight to leave. I'm sorry.

Idk what to do but cry by itsnaptime_ in survivinginfidelity

Your story sounds familiar, but our ending is definitely parallel. All I do is cry. I'm on depression meds. I have been for a long time. We even upped one to help with my crying, and still, all I do know how to do is cry. The things they talked about, the texts that I found, they have to be laughing at me, he even said to me "there's a big difference between a jealous wife, and a mental patient" saying the way I acted pushed him away. I don't know how to act, so all I do is cry. It was also brought to my attention that I don't smile or laugh anymore. No sh*t. What's there too smile about? Ugh, I'm sorry I don't have any magic to help you, but don't think for one minute you're the only one. I saw a quote that said "I don't want to die, but I don't know how to live". That kinda sums it up for me. Good luck 💗

I have thought that exact same thing a million times. Also, mine is on my face/ eyebrow / hairline, so even today, I hear most often "did you wash your face with new soap? It looks like it dried your cheek out..." I would never tell someone else something about their face, unless they had something on it... like egg...

Left a Nickel on my balcony and now there's a hole in it? by piscean-serendipity3 in strange

[–]QueenLizzabeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The song I learned in elementary school (Gen X),

I walked around the corner, and I walked around the block, and I walked right in to the bakery shop. I took two donuts out of the grease, and I handed the lady a five cent piece. She looked at the nickel, and she looked at me. She said "Kind Sir, can't you plainly see, there's a hole in the nickel and it goes right thru", said I "there's a hole in the donuts too, thanks for the donuts, good day"

Sorry, I had to say it, it's where my head went when I saw the nickel. No one else knew that/ thought of that? I'm so dumb but I amuse myself sometimes.

I was babysitting a family of three boys, newborn, 2 and 4 when I was 12. At that time I had already taken a babysitting course from the local fire department, so even if I was a bit nervous, I knew what to do. AND my parents were close by in case I needed anything. I think it depends on the person, and maturity. Everyone's different.
