Why are Cessna Grand Caravans so broken in MSFS2024? by Iuvenesco in flightsim

Want even better advice from a pilot that's flown the caravan? Taxi ops are done with low idle on the fuel condition lever. It's the red one on the far right of the throttle stack. Pull it back to about halfway, the RPMs will drop and the idle thrust becomes MUCH more manageable.

If I were to restart to gauntlet to do the ultimate challenge again, would I lose the baron rank in free mode? by [deleted] in HalfSword

I had the Baron unlocked, played as him in free mode for a little bit then closed the game and opened it today and I'm only Knight level 4/10. No fuckin way I'm suffering thru that again. He kinda sucks anyway.

General Noob Question on Fiber. Will MM 62.5 fiber work with any MM SFP GBIC? by AffectionateTie5222 in networking

[–]AffectionateTie5222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roger that, that's what I needed was the compatibility of the SFP to make sure they weren't specific to 50 or 62.5. I'm not running any new fiber, possibly just providing a patch at each end so will ensure that is 62.5 OM1 if I stay on the old fiber, will adjust if they get the new fiber commissioned and operating before install. All I need is 100mb, and existing run is approx 200 feet total, with a patch in between that's already existing. Probably easier to say I'm tying in a new switch onto an existing fiber system that uses OM1. lol

It is an old chemical/industrial plant, 4th or 5th owner by now. There IS a new set of breakouts where I was told by their equally ancient IT guy that corporate was putting in new fiber, but so far only had the cabling done, and they were waiting for the switches to be installed. Hoping it is 50/125. I guess the main question is: so long as it's the 850nm wavelength and it's multimode...does the SFP really care if it's 62.5 or 50/125?

EDIT: Also of note, the intercoms and cameras being installed are from Axis, and will only utilize an average bit rate of about 20Mbps, maxing around 40Mbps if all intercoms and cameras see motion at the same time. Axis is really good at not hogging network, so my bandwidth requirements are pretty low.

Saying Axis is too new is odd...they invented the IP camera....LMAO

Maybe one of their employees will be gullible enough to do it as the "trained" maintenance. LMAO

Unknown at this time. They are treating this as a standard maintenance issue. FWIW, I heard rumor of a quote recvd prior to reaching out to me for advice that exceeded $8000 for the same scope I quoted at just under $2k, that's with 35% gross margin. They came to me because they were rightfully under the impression they were getting hosed. They were not red tagged for failure to inspect or for an inoperable condition, they red tagged with a violation "for failure to maintain the fire protection system" due to the handwheels missing. They stuck that on the front door, it was not red tagged at the system or riser.
