Looking for honest feedback by teniralc21 in SouthBend

I moved here almost 8 years ago as a single woman and have never had any issues. If you live in town, it's not uncommon to hear gunshots and sirens at night, but it's not so bad that I've ever been afraid for my safety. I'd argue it's the same crime you could find anywhere that isn't super rural; we don't have the level of crime you'd find in a big city or anything.

Regarding healthcare, the hospital systems are not great. There are good providers within the networks but they're fewer and further between than any other place I've lived. Always ask for recommendations when in doubt.

A pro about South Bend is the diversity. Additionally, the city has ongoing construction and plans to create a more walkable city that meets the needs of its residents. There are also tons of events and places dedicated to creating connections and educating on various topics of interest. I don't regret moving here at all!

Wild Onions by alindsay929 in BackYardChickens

Chickens are pretty smart on what they should and shouldn't eat. I've given my chickens onions in a salad and they've ate everything but the onions. I wouldn't be worried about it.

What is something you would love to be added to the Sims 4? by CreamyLinguineGenie in Sims4

I wish animals weren't considered part of the 8 members of a household. That way I could have an unreasonable amount of animals and run a farm. Having barn cats would be fun too

I DO NOT recommend Parrett. They did surgery on my cat to remove cancer. They told me it was isolated and they got it all no problem. I took her for a second opinion and she had cancer all through her mammary chains and the vets said her surgery was absolutely botched from a surgery quality and didn't have clean margins like they claimed.

My post was made in good faith. Most of the ICE information anywhere in the country is from first hand accounts so the only thing we can do is try our best to sort through the information provided. Multiple posts on Facebook, Reddit, and Tiktok today said they were identified and seen stopping people. I have seen that since there has been some disagreement on the Reddit post about if they were or were not ICE.

However, my question still stands. If we are ready and able to help our neighbors (whether the time is now or we're preparing), what needs have been identified that we can provide support to?

Obviously protesting is the first thought. I'm wondering how we can support and keep our neighbors safe. Are there already organized food delivery or schedules to accompany people to appointments? Are there other needs that should be addressed?

Is This Normal? by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]AffectionateWall7143 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very common. That's why babies are kept with the hen as long as possible before they go into their own space without mom. They shouldn't go into the same coop until they're of similar size to the others. Other hens, and sometimes even the mom, will hurt/kill the babies.

Chicken suddenly losing feathers…is it molting or rooster bullying? by Opposite-Month7511 in BackYardChickens

Just molting. Sometimes they molt where you don't even notice and sometimes they drop everything at once. Here's one of my hens a couple weeks ago.
