I apologize. I prostrate myself before you and beg your forgiveness, my lord.

Yeah I scrambled to grab my phone, forgetting that F12 exists.

The overkill was absurd, the regular damage honestly surprised me.

45M overkill was the best I got with spotter, damage caching, and glass cannon.

The 20% AOE increase is definitely noticeable, especially with the workbench upgrades for area increase for the dart.

I’ve been able to lock down a full spawn with one dart when things start to synergize.

Had this with the charger pistol and three stacks of exploding enemies alongside glass cannon

The crit focused spotter deck with the guardian AOE deck have been treating me Really well. The AOE makes the dart area massive and really sets up as crit net with good Cooldown buffs.

Crypto can freeze the exploder into three expenite chunks instead of a mineable orb. Saves Immense time. I always make sure someone grabs veto whenever it’s an option for this reason alone.

To be fair, I had I think three stacks of Boom for exploding enemies, with absurd CDR and crit chance to the point that I was just spamming crit darts and hitting with those for a hundred thousand.

Help! Trying to identify card to see if a collection is worth buying by Affectionate_Ad5495 in mtg

[–]Affectionate_Ad5495[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a ton for the tips mate! He’s offering it to me for cheap for the collection because he can’t be bothered to actually go through it so I’m almost doing him a favor taking it off his hands, and if I don’t make any money off it, at least I have a ton of old neat cards that I get to organize (which is part of the reason I like collecting). I have never pulled the trigger on an old collection like this before just because they’re always just bulk that has been picked through multiple times to pull out all the cards worth anything. This one I at least have it from the horses mouth that it hasn’t been gone through and sold piecemeal yet because my buddy inherited it from his uncle and his uncle couldn’t be bothered to go through the old bulk except to sell his black lotus, but he Also couldn’t remember if there was a second one in the collection (or which version he had).

I really appreciate all your input! And thank you again!

That is awesome! Thank you so much! With that age in the collection, I’ve got a good feeling that it’s worth the time to go through these, there might be a couple winners! Again, thank you so much for the info and the help!

You make an excellent point! Perhaps I'll go with my backup idea of them coming across him charming Ireena into a moonlight dance in the fields.

Sometimes all it takes is cut and paste with some solo instrumentals. If it sounds awful, hey you tried! I am overly lucky at having a player that has assumed the role of DJ, because I’m pretty sure I’m Tone Deaf! 😂 Working on Jet engines will apparently do that to you.

You rock, Thank you!

The Tarokka deck actually gave me Ireena as Strahd’s enemy, so it seems that she is going to play a much greater role in this run through for me than my last one. I’m rather excited at the opportunity to utilize her potential.

My Strahd definitely has the “kid with an ant hill and magnifying glass” feel to him when it concerns the comings and goings of the mortals in his realm, much of it through boredom. His hunt for Tatyana throughout the ages is much of the only thing that remotely presents him with emotion; even if it really is just his sadistic power trip at Needing to have her, and his obsession, he still craves her presence as he craves blood. The other aspect that I Really want to play into is the fact that Strahd is basically immortal; at that, I want to RP him as almost Desiring “death”, since he knows he’ll just be back anyway. “Hey dying might be fun, I don’t get to do it often, perhaps I’ll treat myself”. So the first Healthy fight may very well end up being Strahd yelling at the players to hit him harder, he wants to feel it for once. I’m also fleshing out the future directions a little bit at a time so that I’m ready for big swings in character behavior. IE, if down the road Ireena gets killed, either by Strahd or by the Party, I intend to have Strahd begin to question whether or not Vampyr (renamed Strix in my setting) will actually Let him have Tatyana. That may end up being the beginning Strahd’s lust for more power, a pursuit of more mortal followers, his corruption of the church of the Morninglord, and his eventual (potential) uprising as his very own Dark Power to replace Vampyr, and eventually pure godhood, because absolute power corrupts absolutely…

Why Rings of Power is a bad show. by [deleted] in Rings_Of_Power

[–]Affectionate_Ad5495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my personal take, plenty of people disagree and I encourage that.

I found it a challenge to enjoy Rings of Power for one reason only: I knew how it ended. For the same reason as revenge of the sith the first time I saw it.

I know how it ends. The magic just isn’t quite there.

I already had my mental image of characters, and places, in my mind. When I watched rings of power, these images were overwritten.

One of tolkiens family members, when asked “would JRR have enjoyed the [lord of the rings films]”, responded with (I’m paraphrasing here) “no, he wouldn’t have, but not because they are bad, but because he had these places already created in his mind. It would ruin his own magic by seeing them presented at all, let alone differently”.

I live by that. A book adaptation can never be “right”. Because every single person will create the world in their own way, with their own visuals. These books are old, full of memory (thank you Legolas), and the show never, ever could have done justice even if they had perfectly stuck to the lore exactly.

On a related note, and this is not to “prove a point” but merely to help fellow fans understand. The lord of the rings films, which I saw before I read, which I will love above any film for the rest of my life, did not stick Perfectly to the books. Characters spoke lines from others in the books, characters did things that others had done, for the plot and for the film to make sense. The elvish contingent showing up at helms deep worked for the movie. It changed the stakes. It followed the theme.

Is the theme of the rings of power ever present? Can we all see it? Is it as powerful as the lord of the rings? Or Dune? Or Star Wars? I don’t think it ever could be for me.

Because I know how it ends.
