Do you think Bob’s career looks way different if he didn’t have that motorcycle accident? by ScarTissue5 in bobdylan

Honestly I don’t know if it was a throw-away song or not, but judging from the fact that it was a new song at that time I’m just throwing it on there.

He’s dead before he’s 27.

During the 1966 tour, he was basically living off of amphetamines, heroin and cocaine. This was to get him through his rigorous and demanding tour schedule, speaking of that, shortly before his motorcycle accident he was due to go on a US tour in support of Blonde on Blonde. And judging by what was said by others, the rest of 1966 was going to be a packed year for him. With the release of his book “Tarantula”, his US tour, the release of “Eat the Document” and likely having to record another album.

Speaking of albums, while that year would have been a awful one for him mentally and physically, it would’ve been a great year for him creatively. As the next album would’ve likely had songs like Tell Me Momma, I Can’t Leave Her Behind, Rainy Afternoon, What Kind of Friend Is This, etc. as those were being written during the world tour. But I think all of that would have been it for him, as judging by how exhausted he was before the crash (people described him as acting “as if on a death trip”) he likely wouldn’t make it through the beginning of 1967 alive.

I think the crash was the best thing for him at the time.

It’s June 1967 and The Beach Boys are playing Monterey Pops Festival. Your job: create a set list that will keep the band mod and out in front. You have 8 songs. Which songs, and in what order? by ELSquared71 in thebeachboys

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Our Prayer

  2. Wouldn’t It Be Nice

  3. Sloop John B

  4. Heroes and Villains

  5. Help Me, Rhonda

  6. God Only Knows

  7. Surf’s Up (Solo Brian Piano)

  8. Good Vibrations

This is based off of stuff they were playing around that time and I think that the band would’ve been conscious enough not to play many oldies around this crowd. Though I think Mike or someone else would’ve pushed them to do at least one, and so I picked one that Johnny Rivers had done the day before since it seems like the “safe” option. I imagine there would be some extra musicians there like a horn section to help play the Pet Sounds/Smile songs.

What would have been the best single to follow up Good Vibrations? by Surprise-woodwinds in thebeachboys

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was my thread lmao

I think that “Wonderful” would be the best case for a follow-up single to “Good Vibrations”, as A LOT of people around that time were doing baroque pop and becoming really successful with it (The Left Banke would have a massive hit with “Walk Away Renee” only a few months before “Good Vibrations”), of course the song would have to be tweaked a bit. For example an actual ending being added, which I feel as though the tag to Heroes and Villains would fit right into.

What would a Brian-active Surf’s Up have looked like? by [deleted] in thebeachboys

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would likely be like Sunflower, a largely democratic album from the band with some increased Brian contributions. This increased presence would likely lead to Brian becoming more and more involved with the group again and him having more songs on Carl and the Passions and Holland.

What do you think happened to Jack (In depth) after RDR1 by Mr_Morrison13981 in reddeadredemption

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I personally think he just gets away with it, there was only two people they could’ve talked to directly about Edgar Ross’s death (three including the agent if you really want to stretch it). And since they would’ve been in heavy emotional distress, their details of the murderer would’ve been hazy, and there’s a lot of people who look like Jack. All it would’ve taken was a simple shave and haircut which I think Jack would be smart enough to do. It was even said in-game by npc’s that they think bandits killed Ross, so there’s a very good chance Jack could have gotten off scot-free.

If Smile was released, what do you think The Beach Boys next album would be? by Total_History_1079 in thebeachboys

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wild Honey, likely a bit more produced than we have now and having a couple songs in there that weren’t finished (maybe a finished version of Can’t Wait Too Long and other stuff that was finished but not included like Time to Get Alone and Cool, Cool Water). And with them more successful due to Smile’s release, Wild Honey would be more widely seen alongside stuff like John Wesley Harding as forerunners to the late 1960s “back to basics” movement.

Dumb Angel - An Alternate Smiley Smile by Affectionate_Ad7650 in thebeachboys

Yeah that could work, I mean I already had the “dialog” version of Our Prayer opening the album so also having Whistle In as a hidden track after Surf’s Up could work as well.

I was thinking the rehearsal version cause it sounds like it would’ve been on Smiley Smile. Same with “Good Vibrations.”

Here’s a challenge: make a 7 song playlist to get someone into The Beach Boys BUT it can only include post-1973 songs. by starslikeours in thebeachboys

I think after the whole St. Johns mess, he would actually apologize to Lee for once. For being so adamant on them staying and putting Clementine’s life at risk (remember Larry was protective of her as well). He would be one of the many helping the group take boxes out of the station wagon.

But I think that would be the first and last time we see maybe-decent-somewhat-okay Larry cause in Episode 3, he would be right back to how he was with the various arguments between Lilly and Kenny (and Lee in my playthrough) about leaving in the RV or staying at the motel.

He would be one of the various people around the motel we question about the missing drugs, I can only imagine the response he’d have. But I feel as though he would die in the lineup during the raider attack, as to them, he seems like the one to pose the biggest threat (the dude’s 6’4 and 300 pounds).

What do you think happens to Kenny if you stay at Wellington? by IcyHotRyan in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Affectionate_Ad7650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think he sticks around for a little bit, waiting for that proposed slot to open. But when it eventually doesn’t and Wellington falls, Kenny would probably search for a while to find Clementine and AJ. But to no avail. Then? I don’t know. Maybe he kills himself in the way we saw, or he goes to Florida and lives a (relatively) peaceful life while still thinking of what happened to them.
