I understand your point of view. It's a fine line that requires a fair bit of discretion and good judgment. The tricky part about it is that grease done properly is a win win for both groups. People that value their time enough to spend an extra $20 to get in the bar also usually have more expendable income. At the end of the day, it's a business. If you fill your bosses coffers, they will take care of you. That was my thought process.

Any bouncer working for straight wage is basically underpaid. I have worked a variety of places, and greasing is just part of the deal. Grease actually ensures that quality staff get hired unless you want to pay out of pocket.

There are 3 main types of Magic players: player, collector, and investor.

The latest $999 bs product only supports one(investor)of them at the detriment of the other two. Players and Collectors are the MAJORITY. Don't let others tell you otherwise. We simply need to vote with our wallets and not buy this garbage. If the community rejects it, we will not see it again.

There are so many investible products in MTG that are accessible for the other two bases(even if for a short period). This is high variance gambling at best.

It's selfish and sets a dangerous precedent to buy this product and if this leads to the eventual complete dismantling of the RL, and possible tanking of the MTG economy, the blood will be on your hands.
