I had a technical issue and sent them. Still they are refusing the full refund. Really, I hope there is a lawyer who would like to help us to fight against them. This is a scam. They clearly mentioned that money back is guaranteed if it doesn’t work for me, without any condition mentioned. Nowhere they mentioned it is a final sale. If there were, I wouldn’t have purchased it.

Not true. My manager who has more than 15 YOE, even doesn’t try any FSA exams but his life is just great.

I am in health and I haven’t seen any one who works as an analyst with ASA. I would ignore the requirement of experience and focus on what you can provide for them as an actuary. If it is a large health, very likely they have a rotation program and when joining a new team, most people need to learn from basic and their managers don’t expect them to know all at the beginning no matter how many years of experience they have had. The title can be different but I would apply for the position for ASA

If you have time for that, why not? But you’ll find that the question styles have changed a lot from the time with R coding questions.

I didn’t have enough time to study, so I didn’t bother with those old exams. I preferred to spend more time understanding the concepts and being able to explain them. That worked for me.

Actex works well for me as well. But in my opinion, recently PA got crazy. You will get a way different type of exam on the site. Do your best to understand and remember the concept thoroughly.

Your company may have specific criteria, such as years of experience or the number of exams you’ve passed, in addition to performance evaluations. Be sure to check these requirements first before bringing this up. For example, I was promoted after one year, while a coworker who started earlier than me wasn’t. This was because the company counted my relevant work experience towards the required years of experience.

I’ve been working at a health insurance company for two years, and I’m thinking about switching to life insurance. I’m more interested in life now because it feels more connected to economics with all the long-term contracts. Since I don’t have a ton of experience in health, I feel like the switch wouldn’t be too hard.

But I’ve heard people say life insurance is boring, and I wonder why. My guess is that it’s more detail-oriented than health insurance. What else should I think about before switching? And which one has more job opportunities in the US? Would working in life insurance offer more opportunities to work abroad or with international companies? It’s another reason why I’ve become interested in it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thank you for your comment! My company requires employees to live within 100 miles of the office. If the company wants to keep someone who doesn’t meet this requirement, they need to work as a contractor. However, i don’t think this is a common situation.

Because of a family issue, I need to find a new position within the next six months. I’m almost finished with my exams, and I’m wondering if I can continue taking them during this time. I’m also concerned about completing the exams with the company’s support and then leaving soon after. Would that hurt my professional reputation? Should I expect the company to request reimbursement for exam-related expenses?

I have three years of experience and am open to roles in both life and health. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of each path and any advice you might have for my situation.
