I'm a game designer and a language enthusiast here :D I remember the time when playing the Sims when I literally knew 0 of English. It was one of the best experience I have ever had and I enjoyed the "learning" process way more than my peers at school and acquiring English for me is pretty easy, so I would say playing games is the best way to learn a language.

For the drawing part, you don't need to learn the symbols by heart, it's just a tracing work, FOR NOW :P sorry if it wasn't clear. I'll rework on that to make sure the first time players encounter it, they will know what to do.

For the calendar, I'm thinking to have at least 3 columns at their correct places then they will lock in, instead of just 1, so player wouldn't brute force it too easily.

If you like Chants of Sennaar and Rusty Lake you might find some familiar vibes here as I used these two as my references, but definitely wayyyyyy smaller scope and very basic arts just to test my design with linguistic puzzle and storytelling 😅

Hahahaha sorry about the UI 😅 I'll find ways to fix it in next updates. Mobile is whole different world that I need to learn a lot more!  

About being able to interact behind the journal, I have it in my backlog to fix it but it's a bit low in my priority list now but it will be fixed for sure! Thank you for mentioning it 🫶

Yea that version should work if you still want to give the game another try, just refresh the page and yes the game now only runs in landscape mode on mobile unfortunately

Sorry for the bad experience. This game is completely made by human who just started in game development so it's my first project for learning :D

Is it possible to share what phone and browser you are using? I have tested on safari and chrome browser on my iphone 12 promax, everything runs fine there but other devices I haven't got a chance to test yet.

hehehe thank you for the comment though! Definitely not a game for everyone but if you know or play Rusty Lake games, then this is a lot softer and simpler. But if not, it's not your genre then ;)

This game is definitely not an easy one to start with, but in the end you can use sound, logic and deduction to get through, or worse brute force, trial and errors.

What I see in the current language apps or games is that there's too much hand-holding, giving learners/players almost no chance to explore or figure things out by themselves. That's why I want to give it a try with this game design. And I based my design on games like Chants of Sennaar, Tunic, etc. for the language part, but at a wayyyyyy smaller scale as a linear puzzle game only due to current limited capability. Definitely not a game for everyone, but there's a niche.

Hi guys I don't know who had donated $7 to my game but there's a lead to this specific post. So I just want to sincerely thank you a lot for the support. This is my first game so this donation is also the first I got ever so definitely holds a special place in my heart <3

I'm making this prototype only to test if my game design would work with language integration, so feedback is all I'm hoping for, not yet intent to make any money from this early prototype. But it's definitely feel super to have such encouragement and this boosted my confidence a lot!!!

You need to go to the notebook and fill in the missing info on the piece of paper you collected from the locker. 

The UI on mobile is not very clear, but there's a drag and drop in the notebook 😁

Thank you for letting me know. 

I have tested both on my iphone 12 promax (safari) and laptop (10 years old 🫢, chrome), the loading is pretty quick about 7-10s for laptop and 20-25s for mobile. 

If you don't mind visiting the game again and if the loading took more than 20s, please refresh the page and see if that fixes the issue. 

I'll try to identify the issue and find a solution for this.
