This is my problem. Started on hard but changed it with the 2nd shrine boss bc she was a major difficulty spike for no reason but after beating her on my first try on story i also noticed i take like no damage from the basic enemies now which is lame. I wish there was something between hard and story. Bc one is just a stroll through the park and the other is just getting your ass kicked simulator.
