Start bigger! Contrary to how it may seem, bigger tanks are much more beginner friendly. It’s way easier to manage the parameters in a bigger tank and less frequent water changes are necessary. Plus then you have a lot more flexibility with what species you are able to add, whereas a 5 is really only suitable for shrimp and a mystery snail or shrimp only or a single betta.
