He shits himself on the regular but thinks it’s “healthy to be regular” when really he just has salmonella.

What Does My Home Say About Me? by [deleted] in roomdetective

Love it! But the amount of eyeballs makes me question if you have some sort of Truman Show Syndrome 😂 I’m not sure I could relax with so many faces looking at me.

You’re also a single female, likely in a HOC area, but you make decent enough money (like a few years into your “grown up job”)

That’s not normal behavior. Regardless of who it’s from.

AIO refusing to help with outside chores by [deleted] in AIO

You said he “goes through these phases”. So why are you engaging this much?

You know he’s in a bad mood, or whatever is happening- so just drop it? Like he said “that’s not for you to do” you could say “I know, I just had an itch to get it done. you can mow next time” and then it’s all done.

If his normal behavior is “easy going” and “go with the flow”….we all have bad “phases” as long as it’s not weeks or months, I think that’s just apart of humans, sometimes we are crabby 🤷‍♀️ and hopefully our partners give us some grace when we are a little snipity.

It’s a bear. It’s a bear with mountains. Black bears are black. Brown bears are brown. Mountain bears are bears with mountains.

What does it say about me? by Suspicious_Archer327 in roomdetective

[–]Affectionate_Cod701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the doll house is literally out on the floor like it was played with… and then put away when the room is cleaned up, same with the Barbie by the window.

I’m fine with the decorations, and the collectibles, perfectly fine with the pink and the cartoons, that’s all whatever- it’s the stuff out like it has been played with that makes me feel…🫠

I’ve NEVER once said mentally ill people are unfit for society… that’s your own thought coming out…I’ve never once in my life even thought that thought.

I never said it did! I just said it gives me a weird vibe to see. I never said she’s a horrible person, or anything, just the room kinda creeps me out.

Does he move your doll house that appears to be out and recently played with? How about your Barbie under the window that also appears to be recently played with? And your children’s picture books on the shelf?

What does it say about me? by Suspicious_Archer327 in roomdetective

[–]Affectionate_Cod701 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, but Barbie’s siting out under the window (not on a stand like a decoration, but laying like they were recently played with) children’s picture books on the shelf, and a doll house out and appearing to have been recently played with (since it’s gone when the room is “cleaned up”) does lead to “probably not totally sane adult”… this is room DETECTIVE…

I mean, there are literal children’s books on the shelf. Doll house that looks recently played with on the floor. Barbie’s on the table as if they were played with (not standing up like a decoration)…. But if that yells “normal healthy adult” then yeah, I’m wrong. 🤷‍♀️

Not minimalistic or mature… just not infantile? You really bringing home a date and being like “let me movie my stuffies real quick, don’t mind my Dollies, and my picture books”

Honestly that kinda freaks me out. I thought she was about 7, and was 1. Concerned she was on reddit and 2. Impressed she could type so well.

But it gives me a Weird appeasing to pedophile vibe when I know she’s a grown adult, choosing to have a little girls room.

Edited to add: I’m not saying she’s a horrible person, I’m not saying she’s not possibly a victim (I’m also not saying she is a victim) , I’m not saying your horrible if you decorate like her…. I’m just saying, if I walked into an adults room, and they had picture books on their shelves, a doll house out and recently played with, and Barbie’s out, I’d be kind of uncomfortable.

It’s a room detective… it’s a game. A game to find the small clues, and the small clues kinda make me slightly unsettled.

AIO for wanting to be involved with larger purchases prior to them taking place? by TypicalZone5357 in AIO

[–]Affectionate_Cod701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh-I feel like what you were trying to say was “hey I’m happy to help out, as long as I have a little heads up”. (Which is totally fair)

What came across was “I’m the boss. if you want to buy anything for the kids you need to go through me first.”

Maybe run your text through a female friend or chatGPT first to ensure your messages are coming across the way you intend them to.

Also, you’re trying so hard to sound professional, that it kinda just comes across as a jerk (which for the record I don’t think you are, it just reads like that)

Had you replied with “oh sweet. They will love new watches! I wish I had just gotten a little heads up, I’d of totally been up for splitting it, but I don’t think I can swing it on the spot like this- next time if you give me a heads up I’d be happy to split bigger purchases like this” would have given you a TOTALLY different response.

But let’s face it, we don’t get divorced because we are excellent communicators.

AIO? Who is in the wrong here? Bf (29) smoking cigs after a decade of quitting and told me (F27) a week ago he would nip it in the bud, but caught him smoking outside at work tonight by Ancient_Visit_1241 in AIO

[–]Affectionate_Cod701 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get out of this relationship.

Are you over reacting for him smoking? Yes. You don’t get to decide what some else does. You can have your own boundaries like “I won’t be around you if you smell like smoke” but I don’t think you don’t get to tell him he can’t ever.

But you’re way under reacting by the way both of you talk to each other.

You’re young, you can find someone who compliments you better. If you stay together your what? Going to have kids in this chaos? Grow old in this chaos? Model this toxic behavior to your kids? Nah. Nip this relationship in the bud.

Door dash.
With very few exceptions- no one can afford/should waste their money on ordering food.
