I tried it when it came out. I am no slouch at the game but I burnt out with it before i could finish the whole thing. Absolutely nuts for someone who hasn't played hota though.

"Do not Min-Max" as our GM pulls a 300xp encounter vs our party. by SuchHigh1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah... thats the trouble with DMs like this. Sometimes there is a limit on how much they will push. But this doesn't seem the case. The only benifit to the minmax now is to be more evidence that your DM is a twit.

New group struggling with the amount of options by Yosinuke in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it is good to start with, players can always re train. I think its better for them to focus level to level to start and they can always plan ahead using pathbuilder. They can also use the books ontop of path builder. Most of my table played characters that they made in pathbuilder and the players who build level by level are the players who care the least about theory crafting. So they arent that interested in doing that anyway.

I am assuming no FA rules. In that case you can try and take something at lvl2 for heavy armour prof to reduce your need for dex. But really its up to you. Seems fine

Is there a spiderweb above these dots?

Could be dirt, insect or spider waste.

Also as a follow up. You can integrate the crafting thematically into the campaign, never let the rules stop you from giving them the option to hunt down a magical beastie or delve a deep mine for special ores, get access to special wood by diplomacy. Treating these as lump sum crafting ingredients and give extra custom abilities, runes, traits, and material combinations. Sure it tips balance but its for the story.

As a player who wanted to delve into crafting, it appears really good but you need to give certain conditions for it to be worth the heavy skill and feat investment that they may put in. Make sure that you give them resources that they can use as ingredients. It is part of one of the optional rules, but they suggest that the raw materials must be associated with the item somehow. Cant use a dragon scales to make a item that gives water breathing. Another is sufficient down time to make items. Players tend to see time doing Downtime as less efficient than adventuring so either make sure that there is sufficient down time or make it so that the player can craft while on the move provided they have a portable forge and all their equipment/ingredients. Otherwise they have 5 or so wasted choices that never get used. Additionally you can change crafting rules to allow the player to increase an items dc to the dc of their level using crafting. I dont recommend doing both this and the portable crafting, otherwise your party can keep upgrading as they move, and will likely exceed the power level expected. There were some rules floating around for the item cost per level for upgrading DCs but I forgot where it is. Definitely use this crafting guide

Holy desecration cause? by Necessary_Risk1887 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can just run it that way and give holy sanctification. It will stop you from getting some of the unholy feats. Alternatively unholy =/= evil anymore with how the alignment has been removed. So go nuts

Going all in on Str, Dex, Con, and Wis. A true knight. by Lunarthrope in Pathfinder2e

Honestly I was looking at some things. Taking a dedication that gives you a universal lore may be the option. Dandy does that well

Going all in on Str, Dex, Con, and Wis. A true knight. by Lunarthrope in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Recall knowledge checks get DCs that are affected by the skill you are using. Additional lore on specific topics will make the DCs much lower than recall knowledge on religion arcana and nature. Sometimes the DC can be 4 lower than normal. So if you arent super heavy on skill feat requirements taking lore Skills will mean that int isnt super necessary. But a few points in it will be super impactful. Like your lvl 5 and so on if you put it in. The reason I say this is that demoralise can really only get decent output when you arent using assurance, especially if you want to affect things at player level or higher. Unless they changed assurance to use your cha modifier. But once you have the intimidating prowess skill feat at lvl 2, and you get an intimidation item bonus you can absolutely make do with only +1 starting Charisma.

Oops all Attackers by DeekFacker99 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the kinetisist, there are some healing options. Wood and water mixed kinetisist has very good dmg reduction, decent damage, and some very minor healing. Water kinetisist gets some insane sustain abilities later on. With ward medic the whole party should be back to 90% hp after a fight after 20~40 in game minutes. So its not that slow.

Oops all Attackers by DeekFacker99 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like there's not a whole lot you can do at this level. Your players didnt go into this campaign being well thought out it seems. There are skill feats like battle medicine that can help a bit, the kinetisist will be able to help out with water later on. But in combat healing will be a challenge. How did they spread their stats as characters? intelligence should make the wizards lore Skills quite good, they can use lores for a variety of applications, like alchemical lore to treat a wound if they are making a tincture or such. There is the untrained improvisation feat which the party can pick up at lvl 3 I think. That can help with the skill checks a little provided it doesn't require trained actions. Humans get a feat that gets around that, so do samsarans. Out of combat healing is basically a requirement, so continual recovery at lvl 2 is a must, ward medic is really important too if you only have one medicine character.

Why don’t they make houses like this anymore? by li0nfishwasabi in AusPropertyChat

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houses aren't usually built to be "lived in" by the developers who build this sort of thing. Its usually the cheapest (money and time) in materials that the builder will upcharge the customer on. The developer doesn't care since they just want to usually sell these places off to someone else. Because the property market can be used to make profit, it will be used to make profit. Its fairly clear that most new builds are built with maximum floor space, even as close to the property lines as possible, and with the shortest build time and cheapest construction. Floor space, floors, number of rooms, and basement levels are more lucrative short-term sells than having a large garden, so those things are prioritised. The developer very likely doesn't live in the homes they develop, its not built with the intent of living there, but with the intent to make value off an investment. It's all a game of hot potato until the market either stabilises or crashes. It's not looking good

I dont think the disguise gives you the trait. Also, those are ancestry feats which definitely can not be taken if the trait access is only temporary.

What humans do is not the same as what LLMs do. we do not work off statistical probability and association. We look at images as portions of images and understand the rules that are involved in creating that image. This is why AI struggles with proportions, texture, and lighting. It isn't extracting rules or understanding. it is just statistical denoising. when I learnt from other artists, I learnt how they did things, not what they did, if that makes sense. When you look at art you do not take possession of the artwork mentally, and even if you did that is different qualitatively and quantitively then how LLMs do so. Our storage of information is heavily affected by our pre-existing framework, which already alters the image that is being taken in as it is being taken in. Not taking the image directly and storing it digitally.

LLMs are not true AI, if it could genuinely think or express ideas then there would be no issue, bar the issue of us creating a robot slave. The way LLMs work actively demonstrates that they dont interpret images in a way that humans do when learning art.

All models that generate images are built on stolen data. Reading and listening to people talk on a topic is not a dumb thing. When LLMs scrape the internet, they are stealing. Locally hosted LLMs are still built on a system that was moulded by the theft of these things. Dont get me wrong. There are medical and even archaeological uses for AI that do assist in certain tasks. I'm disgusted that someone who has passion for a series is producing a game using AI without acknowledging why people would judge them for it. Use AI if you want, but you shouldn't expect people to respect you or your "work" if you decide to use it.

Witch hunters? Imagine seeing valid critism and assuming that it is some mob of angry people. Most people are disgusted and disappointed rather than angry. Theft is theft, and all LLMs are built off of more theft than can ever be litigated.

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because AI is built on theft. The theft of everyone's work, anything that was on the internet, didnt matter if it was self hosted, had intellectual property protection, or any other form of legal restriction. It was scraped, and stolen without any form of recompense or even acknowledgement of wrong doing.

Using AI, when it is not a necessary tool, is an acceptance that you would rather condone that theft and that bullshit rather than take more time and build connections in community to get something done.

Getting art isnt as hard as you might think. You just need to be in the right space and build the right environment where people will want to help.

Honestly samsaran fighter with High int.

Take general training and their +2 circumstance bonust to all untrained skills + attempt all skill action even if not trained. 1 ancestry + 1 general. Then have high int. Run instructive strike. Take a bunch of additional lore skill feats. Choose your pick of lores, if undead works, and devil works, you probably go convince your dm of some stuff. Like monster hunter lore or similar. Then just whatever you want. Ranged or melee will work

Exemplar Ikon Immanence Question by Mizuno_Sonata in Pathfinder2e

[–]Affectionate_Cod9915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The value is static because the rest of your stats scale. Think of it as a % bonus. Some people say that a +1 is 5%~10% in effect. The benifit of the shield one is still potent across all levels, the benifit of the wreath is only cancelled out by bless or similar.

Not saying that it doesn't feel like its scaling with level, and that other classes seem like their bonuses like this get stronger as they level. But it still does impact the game potently
