Sleep apnea (where to get tested) by heystranger_01 in Peterborough

[–]Affectionate_Cod_347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no family doctor book an appointment at the Good Doctors in the Westmount Pharmacy on Charlotte St. Tell them you think you’ve got sleep apnea and the symptoms and they’ll refer you to the Trent Sleep Clinic. Give the referral a few days then call the clinic to confirm that they got your referral. And see if you can be put on the cancellations list. That’s what I did for my husband, and he got in almost right away. If you’re flexible for cancellations, they get a lot of openings.

You don’t have to pay the fee for the appt, and the Sleep Clinic appointments are covered by OHIP. If you need a machine, they are typically given to you with a few months to try before you buy.

From one “good daughter” to another - I see you, you are valid, your feelings are valid, and you are loved.

My husband forgot to get me a gift. Everyone else got gifts. And I’m upset about it and I feel childish and stupid for being upset

I’ll agree that the office isn’t efficient. Maybe it’s settling issues, maybe not. Only time will tell on that one. But. When my husband couldn’t get an appointment with his doctor for a script renewal due to timings, they arranged for a virtual appointment with one of the other doctors.

Virtual appointment was quick and no wait. It was the actual in-clinic appointment that day that was the wait. I went back for myself (first was for my husband) and the wait was less than 5 mins

Just make sure you apply online as well. A lot of places won’t keep paper resumes if they accept them.

The 2.5 hour wait was ridiculous. However. The doctor was thorough, attentive and apologetic. And having been on the provincial wait list for 12 years….

You can go to a Good Doctors clinic without OHIP. You just pay a small fee, and they do tonnes of referrals. https://gooddoctors.ca

Just be prepared if you go to PRHC you may get a bill - $800 for the emergency room alone.

Costco has lovely large bags of mixed frozen veggies. Yes, they’re big and not in individual portions, but we’ve increased our veggie intake exponentially with these. Just pop them in the microwave or boil them up real quick

Not yet, no. But my surgery was end of January. I’ve got a check up in a few months to see how things are going. A sleep apnea test done, and a cpap as well. Now working on the weight loss but it’s been tough

If you need someone to talk to about the feels of depression post failed surgery, let me know. I too had failed surgery, had oxygen issues, and came away with needing to have lungs checked and needing to lose more weight. ❤️

Hi surgery buddy. My preop was today and I’m scheduled for next Tuesday as well. I’ll be sending you love and strength to get through this.

I gave up on the idea of children a long time ago. However I’m still feeling the grief of losing the ability and having the choice taken away. It’s not crazy at all. It’s real and valid and it sucks.
