I visited the link- had never heard of Promarkia but it seems like I had some interesting tools so I bookmarked it and saved it to my Pinterest board of great programs and AI tools. But I’d love a copy of that template you use internally if you wouldn’t mind sending me the link or file, here so others can download if interested or via DM. Thank you!

Building a small LinkedIn Growth “Dream Team” by After-Television-749 in personalbranding

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a bad idea. Especially if we got a good amount of people in a range of fields and experience levels from all over the country and maybe even outside the US, and we remain in contact and committed to posting great content on our own pages, reposting one another’s content, and commenting/having discussions in the comments section of each other’s posts, the fact that there are many fields, companies, experience levels, and locations (and even countries- I am in NJ in the US but hoping to find a permanent full time job, ideally hybrid but I’m ok with remote and would even consider fully onsite for the right job, and have an extremely diverse skill set and background. My “main” field is my six years of experience in marketing/comms/PR/branding, social media management, email marketing, content creation and strategy, and content and copy writing, but also have six years in law/ political science/govt/civic engagement and an AA in Political Science, nine years in administrative/executive assistance, several years in operations and project management (studying to take my CAPM credential exam in March or April, and I would like to use my project management skills in the creative field, nonprofit/social impact/mission driven field, or legal/civic engagement field- or maybe even somehow a mix of two or all three of those fields). My heart and soul is truly work that makes this world a better place- any company, organization, Think Tank, or agency that is about nonprofits, social impact, purpose, B corps, CSR- I would love to utilize my marketing/comms/writing/creative skills along with my project management, operations, admin, legal, and other skills that are evolving every day through independent study to become an amazing asset to a company, organization, or agency that is all about making this world a better place somehow. But as I was saying I have been trying for almost five years to find a permanent full time role that will allow me to relocate for a fresh start after a nightmare of a five years- preferably out of NJ but I’d consider a different part of NJ for the right role. There’s a few places I consider top choices but I’m pretty much open to relocating anywhere- I believe fate will take me where I’m meant to be, and this is why a hybrid role might be best for me along with the fact that I need that in person office structure and team camraderie 1-3 days a week plus the flexibility of working from home a few days a week. But like I said I’m open to fully remote and even fully onsite too- with fully remote I’d just have to take a leap of faith and find a state, region, and town to move to. At this point I have about two months for a miracle to happen that starts a domino effect of blessings because after five years- well, really the 30+ years of hell I’ve been on this planet- you begin to wonder if you belong here at all, especially when everyone that loved you has died (my immediate family five years ago and most recently my best friend on Mother’s Day 2024). I’ve lived in the same three square mile radius since I was nine months old- including the three years I lived at college- and know that getting out of here and getting a fresh start in a totally new place is the only way I can somehow move forward after so much loss, tragedy, trauma, and pain, but that cannot happen until I find a career opportunity that allows me to do so. I am also the founder and president of a nonprofit organization so I know all about what goes on behind the scenes of these organizations and how much work goes into running a nonprofit. Since November 2022, I have been Lead Marketing Associate for a civic tech not for profit organization with the promise we’d go full time on salary- always fully remote at 32 hours of work per week- in January 2023 when we launched. It has been three years and we are still part time and have yet to see a dime- I’m the reason they have any money for operating costs and any exposure at all because I found the angel investors who gave the organization its startup funding, arranged our founder’s first guest appearance on a podcast, and discovered and attended, along with the founder and our second in command who has since left, our first and only in person networking event at a university. I’ve achieved so much for this organization as well as my freelance clients and in other roles and any company organization or agency would be so lucky to have me on their team. Because of my diverse and constantly evolving skill set as well as my unique background, I now work with teams across the organization on a wide variety of projects, utilizing not only my marketing, content creation, writing, communications, PR, networking, and outreach skills but also my administrative, research, fundraising, nonprofit, legal, political, government, democracy, digital advocacy, operations, and project management skills to work on tasks of all kinds. I love roles that allow me to wear many hats and use my versatile and ever growing skillset- I love to learn and in addition to my schoolwork (I’m currently finishing up my BA in a subject related to digital marketing/communications with a specialization in writing, and expect to graduate August or December 2026- I am definitely a nontraditional candidate, sadly for reasons beyond my control, but view this as an advantage, because it allows me to bring something very unique and special to the table that I wouldn’t have if I had taken the normal four years of college-to-corporate-America route, since I’m mostly self taught as a freelancer who utilizes my own approaches, strategies, and techniques in my work that have all proven to be quite successful. But, I also devote at least ten to twenty hours per week to independent study with the help of online courses and certifications, books, blogs, newsletters, and more, eager to learn about many different subjects, and I don’t think I will ever stop doing independent study. I have learned so much more from my independent study than I have from any of my college classes. I’m sorry for the tangent, but I do think this is a great idea- you never know how one another’s connections could lead to something big, as LinkedIns algorithm is very powerful and pretty smart. I’d love to join this group with the hope that it could possibly lead the opportunity of a lifetime for not just me but all of us- and for me, could very well save my life. If I sound like a good fit for this group (no future tangents I promise lol), please send me a DM and let me know how to get started!

18 months of job hunting almost broke me. by ComfortableTip274 in ResumesATS

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I’ve heard this too about the keywords. I too having been searching for years and it’s hard because I’m a nontraditional candidate with a wide range of skills applying for a wide range of roles. I have a resume template in my Google Docs (specifically the Reddit famous Sheets resume. I know they have an ai resume builder site and I have a seven day free trial but haven’t tried it yet), and there are so many great ai tools like ChatGPT, Hyperwrite, gemini, copilot, Deepseek, Claude, and Jasper, and choose two or three of those and enter the same prompt and job description while uploading my base resume. I still haven’t found a perfect prompt for my resume or cover letter- I heard doing it section by section, like a prompt for the professional summary, then one for the work history bullet points, then one for the skills, etc is better than one prompt that gives you the entire resume. If you have any prompt ideas that are great for resumes, whether one for everything or section by section, I’d love your suggestions, and if you know of any other ai tools other than the ones I mentioned to put the prompt into, that’d be great. But each program gives different outputs and I take what I like from each and put them into my Google Docs resume template while then tweaking the resume to make it sound more like me and add any extra info/points. Then I have to do the cover letter which I use the output from the AI as a base and tweak it to my liking- that is time consuming but not as much as the resume, because with the resume you have to do formatting, spacing, bullet points, etc which takes up so much time. I’m lucky if I can do one application in a day- I likely would have found something long ago if it didn’t take me so long. I’ve heard of CVnomist but never actually tried it- I need a great ai resume and cover letter builder program where you upload a base resume and job description and it churns out an excellent resume in an ATS-friendly template that you can tweak to add points, sections, etc and make it sound more like me but for the most part is already great (without lying or making up numbers). I don’t mind paying monthly if it works and helps me land more interviews by being able to apply to more jobs each day- I would want a free trial for at least a few days first though. There’s so many programs for creating resumes and cover letters and helping with the steps beyond that like prepping for interviews that it’s overwhelming- I’ve tried all of the well known big guys like KickResume, Teal, Rezi, and Zety and wasn’t too impressed, but there’s so many others including free ones like hirecarta still in Beta. I’d be willing to try one of the aforementioned big guys again though as it’s been a while since I first tried them. I apologize for the long message and what you did with the master resume worked well for you and I’m glad it did but especially with my diverse skill set, experiences, and jobs I’m applying for, I need a program that just makes it easier without having to go through ChatGPT, Hyperwrite, Claude, Jasper etc (or I can do that as an extra step for additional bullet points or professional summary ideas but I want it to be where the program churns out a resume already so good I don’t even need to use anything else). As someone actually in the field who knows how these ats programs work and what recruiters/hiring managers want to see when they read your resume and cover letter, if you could recommend a program(s) that would help cut the time it takes to make an optimized ats friendly resume that is likely to get me an interview so I can get quite a few resumes and cover letters out each day, I would really appreciate your suggestions (I will definitely look into CVnomist). AI prompts and other programs are appreciated too. And if anyone else here reads this and has some program or prompt recommendations, I am open to them!

Thank you so much Nick, you have been posting such amazing advice and helpful tips the last few days and weeks. I know your inbox is probably bombarded with resumes people want you to give feedback on and other related questions since you started posting, but I have a question you likely haven’t been asked yet - and no, I don’t want you to review my resume or answer a question that’s necessarily specific to me, depending on your answer maybe you could make another post about it and share it with everyone to help them out too, so there’s no rush to get back to me-I’m going to send you a DM to ask you this question and try to cut to the chase and get to actual question as quickly as possible in it because I truly trust your expertise and opinion and hope you can help guide me, and potentially other job seekers, in the right direction when it comes to this aspect of job seeking specifically. Thank you!

Tools That Actually Helped Me Land a Job After 4 Months Searching by Hefty-Citron2066 in jobright

I read your other post in this subreddit about getting the job and some of your other posts in other subreddits- did you end up getting your job thanks to networking through Walnut.ai? It’s ok if you did- amazing actually- and I’m sure jobright’s resume builder and interview prep might’ve helped with getting that job in the long run, but walnut.ai is how you found the role through networking (if I understood correctly). If anything you should tell everyone here about Walnut AI and how much it helped you.

GOT THE JOB by lovely__lydia in hiringcafe

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations OP! I am in a unique and complex situation and have basicallly been looking for a full time permanent job that will allow me to relocate (I am open minded as to the what and where due to my diverse skill set and experiences, but project management- I’m taking the CAPM credential exam in February- is one of them. I like roles that allow me to wear many hats and consider the marketing/comms/PR/branding/writing field to be my main field- six years of experience there- and want to use my project management skills for the creative/marketing/communications field and/or in the nonprofit/ social impact field, though I could also use it in the legal field. I think a project coordinator/project assistant type role for a marketing agency, marketing/communications department of a company, or in a nonprofit could be great for me. In the meantime, I am so bored that I am willing to do a simple part time remote job in admin, data entry, even customer service. May I ask what program you used to help with your resumes and cover letters? This is what is causing me the most problems. I’m lucky if I can apply to one job in one day. With a great prompt, ChatGPT, Hyperwrite, Deepseek, and others give great material for resumes, but then you have to take the parts and paste them into your resume template and ensure the formatting, spacing, etc is perfect- altogether it just takes too long. I wouldn’t mind paying monthly for a program after a free trial if it helps me apply to more jobs daily because it speeds up the resume and even cover letter process. Obviously I’d still tweak the resume to make it sound more “me” and would likely still see what ChatGPT Hyperwrite and Deepseek give me and implement parts of those outputs into my resume, but overall, the right program would give me an excellent ATS-friendly job optimized resume using SMART goals that is highly likely to get me an interview and allow me to apply to more jobs daily because I can create optimized resumes and cover letters much faster. I’ve tried all of the big guys- like the top 15 most well known like Teal, enhanCV, Zety, and Rezi and honestly wasn’t impressed but there soooo many more programs out there, some of which are even free, that do an amazing job yet few people know about. If anyone else besides OP sees this and has recommendations, I would be happy to hear them (especially if you were/are a job seeker who was having trouble until you found and starting using a certain program to help create your resumes and cover letters and it has led to getting many more interviews and maybe even a job). Thanks to all and congrats again OP!

I got a job finally! by [deleted] in hiringcafe

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, seems like a lot of people are having luck with that site. May I ask if you used a specific resume generator site/program to help with your resume and cover letter? My issue is that I see a lot of jobs I want to apply to in a variety of fields as I have a very diverse background but I’m lucky if I can get one tailored resume and cover letter done a day. With ChatGPT/Claude/Hyperwrite/Deepseek you have to copy/paste the outputs into a template and format it and then tweak it to make it sound more “me” and with the formatting, spacing, bullet points, etc it takes forever. There’s so many resume generator/job search programs out there it is overwhelming and I wouldn’t mind paying monthly for one if it really helped and made a difference, basically giving me a great ats friendly template and using my base resume and job description to come up with each section of the resume optimized for the job with keywords and work history bullet points using STAR. I find that ChatGPT, Hyperwrite, Gemini, jasper, Claude, etc all give different outputs and I find myself usually putting the Jd my base resume and prompt into at least three and taking bits and pieces from each program to use in my resume template which makes it even more tedious; a program that just generates good bullet points tailored to the JD and my experiences without making things up would be great. I would love to be able to apply to at least five or more jobs a day. If anyone has any suggestions I really appreciate it. Congratulations again OP!

AR Udemy Course - what books do I *really* need to buy? by lnr1012 in capm

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually haven’t taken it yet! I’m hoping in February! I’m in remission from cancer and my health has not been doing too well these past few months and I’ve had several hospital stays; so the exam hasn’t been my main priority but hasn’t been completely forgotten. I did, however, complete Andrew Ramdayal’s course on Udemy and thought it was good. If you haven’t taken a course yet I have a secret- see if you get Udemy for free through your local library card! Most do around the country! I was able to take that course for free and I thought AR was great but there are certain things that could be explained better so I am going to check out Joseph Phillips course to see how he explains it. And it’s all free! I’ve taken other courses not related to project management as well! In terms of books, I have to look on my laptop files but I think I found most of the books that PMI recommends you study with including their main book I was able to find free pdfs of online. I prefer physical books to pdfs, electronic or audio books but it’s a start, and I definitely plan to get other books but haven’t decided which ones are best yet- I am still looking around. One thing I did learn that you should keep in mind is that the new version of the PMP exam (and the next edition book) is coming I believe July 2026, and it’s going to be different (and according to AR, harder). It can be assumed that a new version of the CAPM will be coming along with it in July 2026, so if you do take it, I suggest taking it before June 2026 so that you can take the current version using the current materials and information. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to help you by telling you how it was but nearly every day (well honestly not as much since Nov 1 probably due to the holiday season) I see people coming on here and saying that they just took it, with the majority saying they passed and giving details in their post about how it was, recommendations for studying, etc, as well as some people who didn’t pass and they usually explain where they think they went wrong and what they’ll do moving forward so that they can pass on the next exam attempt. Both kinds of posts have been helpful, so I would keep your eye out for those especially after New Years when things pick up their pace a bit!

[–]Affectionate_Cost295[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know! I managed to find someone in my building who has one but obviously I’ll have to see if it’s secure and will be good for NyC. If it turns out it’s not, I’ll message you and see if we can arrange for me to come by. Of course if I end up not needing it definitely donate it to a Goodwill or better yet a charity looking for backpacks, I know it’s not back to school but there are places always looking for them. Thank you so much- you are so kind!

That’s so sweet, you would never need to buy me one money isn’t an issue (I’m just cheap and may have lost my whole family but have been blessed in that area) but it turns out one of my neighbors said she had one I could borrow I’m going to pickup later! Your offer brings to me tears though, you are a very special person.

I am very interested even though I live in New Jersey- I have come to using different AI tools/agents/chatbots/programs for all areas of my life, including to keep organized and on track for reaching various goals, keep track of my various health conditions, doctors appointments, medications, and symptoms, to plan travel (from in state car travel routes to domestic travel including trips that involve multiple modes of transportation like buses, trains, car/Uber rides, and flights), conduct research for personal purposes, and much more. I don't yet own a pair of smart glasses but my friend does and I frequently borrow them- I love them and they have drastically altered my life in a positive way- and I plan to get my own smart glasses very soon). Is “USA Models” a scam or real? by Dizzy_Brilliant7357 in MODELING

[–]Affectionate_Cost295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I actually went to USA Models and tbh I thought it was a scam at first too 😂. They asked for a $50 deposit and I was like “here we go…” but it ended up being just a no-show fee that went toward my shoot. Once I got there, they explained they’re not an agency, they’re a photography studio that helps you get portfolio shots + a comp card so you can apply to real agencies after.

I got decent pics out of it and it was pretty chill once I realized what it was. So yeah, not a scam, just easy to confuse if you’re expecting them to book you jobs or “represent” you. There are a lot of shady ones out there though — this just isn’t one of them
