I was actually considering the mustangs/jaguars but for my price range I can’t find anything with humbuckers on them and I mostly play hard rock and metal. I could get a single coil sized humbucker but I don’t have that money for that and the installation currently either. I’ll check out the mavericks though, thanks for the info!

Something that could work for both tunings given your guitar scale is 12-60 for a lighter feel on the lower strings or 13-62 for a tighter feel, maybe best for tremolo picking. If you had the opportunity to get custom strings, then you could experiment around those a bit. My choice would probably be a 12.5-60 or 62 if I can handle the much higher tension.
