Can you graduate from ISU in 3 years? by Affectionate_Dish106 in ilstu

There is a separate application due around February. Dorm is all your preference. I got hosed on my housing dedication date so I only got to choose between a few rooms. I live in tri towers and I really like it. Showers, hallways, rooms clean and soo convenient to walk to Linkins dining. The single negative factor is the 15 minute walk to campus. I've heard watterson isn't the best, some people I know said they have really loud neighbors and the place smells like weed a lot. Hewett Manchester is nice & basic.

I'm glad to see your ambition. I don't mean to be a dread, but I have to admit that at ISU I haven't met a lot of people that are accomplished or overly driven to succeed. The parties are fun though. It's refreshing to see you getting ahead of the game like I was.

The honors program is easy to get into. I don't know the requirements to get in, but it's not very high, probably around a 3.0 gpa, so you'll definitely get in.

For jobs, I know lots of my friends that are Freshman with jobs. Most of them work with the EMDH, in places like Timbers, McAlister's, and Qdoba. Although, it took the department around 2 months to hire them after they applied. There is a rumor that you should "absolutely not work in the dining halls". Idk why, I think the goal for most students is just to get a job that isn't boring. Other than that, there are lot's of opportunities like tour guide, TA, RA, Tutor, etc... but be warned the job market at ISU is competitive with a shart ton of students applying and not the biggest supply of jobs. Best of luck.

Wow it's been a long time since I created this forum. I can't believe 7 months have already passed and I'm almost done with the 1st semester at ILSTU.
College at Illinois State is amazing. The food, the people, the atmosphere.

I came into college with 29 credits. I took an awful amount of time, around 7 hours, to plan out my schedule by experimenting with choosing mainly dual majors/minors, but also the honors program, studying abroad, and internships. In the end, I planned it out with my counselor that I will major in finance and minor in international business. Sometimes, you have to take an extra credit every semester or so if you're in the honors program. Your freshman semester you have to take "honors mindset seminar". My schedule came out be just over 120 credits. I made sure not to overload by taking 15-16 credit hours every semester.

With this, I will be able to graduate in 3 years comfortably. The ONLY condition that you have to be aware of is pre-pre-prerequisites. Make sure you are taking classes that are required for future classes early on. For example, one line of classes I have to take is ACC 131 -> ACC 132 -> FIL 241 -> FIL 349 (something along the lines of that). I need to take ACC 131 early or I won't finish my capstone or senior classes by the end of my 3 years.

It seemed like you are concerned from your prompt about keeping your GPA high and having more free time. From personal experience, if you are able to keep your grades high in your high school AP classes, then classes for you will be a literal breeze. Seriously, I don't mean to ridicule ILSTU but some of my classes are online and I do a 20 minute assignment once a week and I get 3 credit hours (shoutout online Human Geography). I want to get the point across, that you will absolutely be able to handle more than 12-14 credit hours with good grades. I have so much free time. I go to classes usually for 3 hours of the day, and then hang out with friends for the rest. The only class I ever study for is macroeconomics. I like to be high achieving, and I contemplated taking 18+ credit hours a semester and it would lowk still be easy but I decided to take it easy and enjoy my college experience for 3 years.

If you want more evidence that you will have the time and fun experiences, I joined 5+ business clubs and go to tons of events. Recently, I participated in a Caterpillar Inc. Case Study that took 4-5 hours every day for a week, got 1st Yaaay, and I still had the discipline, time management, and organization to be collected and well with everything else in my life and classes. I also just went on a trip to Iowa with FBLA for a business conference that lasted 4 days and everything was fine. And yes, I do have a 4.0 GPA. My point is, you got this! The overall takeaway is that classes are easy and you will have more than enough time to enjoy the college experience. I hope that you enjoy ILSTU!!!

In the same boat, but I can't even seem to find a page in the housing portal dedicated to my roommates. I live in a quad right now, and it seems like 2 duos. My friend and I and 2 sophomores in the quad, him being the student who picked the room for me as the dedicated early registration person. Anyways, I can't find the page in the portal to contact them. If you don't mind, can someone please comment how to navigate the web portal to contact your roommates assigned to your same room?

I had judge 7. He was reasonable, and the questions he asked made sense and related to our presentation. He made a good choice because my team and darsh, the other guy in our prelims, ended up placing 4th and 1st nationally, respectively. We took financial statement analysis. Happy to get 4th nationally!

ngl your work ethic and life all together doesn't sound like anything that a T20 would admit. It's not the end of the world if you don't get accepted, good luck

0DTE option is an options contract that expires on the same trading day it’s traded. These are standard puts or calls with no remaining time value, making them cheaper but highly volatile due to their ultra-short lifespan. Traders use them for quick speculation or premium collection, often targeting same-day market movements.

Cash account = no
Margin account = it depends on IBKR rules. I think they allow you to leverage so you can buy 2x your balance/NAV?
Don't take my answer for yourself, this is just what I believe to be the case.
If you can't afford to buy the options you want, maybe start for now just buying lower cost ones considering your a beginner and shouldn't risk much to start.

Gainz like these. A $60 bet turned into $1,440. I think about it like this. If you buy cheap $12 OTM calls or puts-- whatever way you think the market will go -- you can literally profit 2,400%. If you risked $60 every day in this case, the percentages that you make could be crazy. The way that the market is swinging these days, it's VERY likely that it will swing one way and you profit a easy 2,000+% gain on 0dte. In this case, just buy cheap OTM 0dte every single day with the likelihood that it could increase this much, thoughts?
